I would support them no matter what. I would even support the Raiders if they moved to Iran and President Ahmananahananajahad built a stadium solely to hide nuclear missles every year talkin bout "I wish Al Davis was alive, we need someone sane running this franchise again"
major props there....same here

I just wanted to say fuck a Dom Capers.

I hate to see Al Saunders, John Fassel, and Bob Wylie go out on the market.

Our O-line was SOLID as fuck this year considering we had no big names on the line.
Fassel drew up some amazing special teams plays, at least I assume it was his plays. Many of those trick plays that didnt work would have if it wasn't for little issues here and there.
And Saunders because I think hes a great OC.

I hope the Packers lose just so we can figure out who our coach may/may not be.

Bowles, the interim dolphins coach was interviewed for the HC position

Bowles assured Raiders won't automatically hire a Packer
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...ured-raiders-wont-automatically-hire-a-packer

Miami Dolphins interim coach Todd Bowles was the first person to interview for the Oakland Raiders' head-coaching vacancy this weekend, and sources said the session went well.

According to league sources, Bowles was assured the Raiders job isn't earmarked for longtime Green Bay Packers assistant coach Winston Moss, whom many have linked to the job.

Bowles, whom the Dolphins would like to keep as defensive coordinator -- if not their head coach -- has strong ties to new Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie. The Raiders announced the dismissal of coach Hue Jackson on Tuesday, the same day they introduced McKenzie as their GM.

Bowles also is a candidate for the Minnesota Vikings' defensive coordinator position, according to sources. Dolphins players have told me they strongly support Bowles to be their coach.

The Raiders also want to interview Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers and offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, according to sources. Philbin, like Bowles, has interviewed for the Miami job.

I bet we get our coach this week

Oakland Raiders' coach search could heat up with Green Bay Packers out of playoffs

The Raiders' search for a head coach should heat up this week, courtesy of the New York Giants.
When the Giants beat the Green Bay Packers 37-20 Sunday at Lambeau Field, Packers assistant coaches Winston Moss, Joe Philbin, Dom Capers and Tom Clements became available for head coaching interviews.
All have been reported as potential Raiders candidates and had a working relationship with Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie in Green Bay.
McKenzie worked in the Packers personnel department for 18 years before being introduced Tuesday as the general manager of the Raiders.
Moss has the title of assistant head coach and also coaches linebackers. Philbin is Green Bay's offensive coordinator, Capers is the defensive coordinator, and Clements is the quarterbacks coach.
Philbin, who rejoined the Packers less than a week after the death of his 21-year-old son in a drowning accident in Wisconsin, is also a reportedly a candidate for the head coaching job in Miami.
On the CBS pregame show, analyst Charley Casserly reported the Raiders were hoping for a "quick decision" in naming a replacement for Hue Jackson, who was fired by McKenzie.
The only reported candidate so far is Todd Bowles, who finished as Miami's interim head coach and has interviewed for the head coaching job there.
The Raiders have not confirmed any head coaching interviews or coaches of interest in the process. McKenzie said at the news conference announcing his hiring he would lean heavily on the Green Bay model while reorganizing the football operation in Oakland.

why does it feel like McKenzie is only looking at Packer coaches for the HC position? Thats pretty lame and closed minded/ignorant in my opinion

Their team just got eliminated from the playoffs by a team with a down syndrome quarterback with an oversized helmet

their team also just won a Super Bowl last year and went 15-1... come on now. let's not live in the moment too much here. They have a solid coaching staff in Green Bay.

Anyways, we don't REALLY know if he's only looking at Green Bay coaches... that may just be what the media is saying. I haven't heard McKenzie say anything about who he want specifically, besides that he has a short list of candidates

I know, even if the Packers won again this year, its still a bad idea to limit yourself to one team instead of looking at everyone available.
I hope youre right about that just being the media spin

even if he is only looking at packers people. he knows them and knows who would be a good hc and who wouldnt. why not let him stick with the people who he knows can probably get the job done.

Raiders interested in Broncos coordinators

By Steve Corkran
Monday, January 16th, 2012 at 10:55 am in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders asked for, and received, permission to interview Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, according to an ESPN report.
McCoy already has interviewed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins for their coaching vacanies, with the Jaguars ultimately hiring Mike Mularkey to replace Jack Del Rio.
McCoy, 39, has become a hot commodity for his impressive work with quarterback Tim Tebow this season. McCoy was forced to shift from a traditional offense to an unconventional one midstream once coach John Fox replaced Kyle Orton with Tebow.
McCoy succeeded in implementing a read-option scheme so that the Broncos could take advantage of Tebow’s unique skill set. People around the league took notice when the scheme worked and the Broncos soared from 2-5 to the AFC West title.
Allen made over a Broncos defense that was among the league’s worst in 2010 and jelled into a comprehensive unit, Sunday’s thrashing at the hands of the New England Patriots notwithstanding.
Allen, 39, also has garnered interest from other teams in need of a head coach this offseason. The St. Louis Rams spoke with Allen before they hired Jeff Fisher.
It’s conceivable that Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie is seeking to glean information into the inner workings of the Broncos by picking the minds of the guys who direct their offense and defense.
That’s a strategy used by the late Al Davis for years.
At some point, McKenzie is expected to turn his interest toward Green Bay Packers assistant head coach/linebackers coach Winston Moss.
Two people who have dealt with McKenzie over the years said the McKenzie said he would hire Moss as his head coach if he ever reached a position where he had the say to do so.
Well, McKenzie now is in that position. We’ll see whether he follows through on that intention or whether someone such as McCoy, Allen or another candidate sways him in another direction.
Dolphins interim coach Todd Bowles interviewed with McKenzie last week. He is the only candidate known to have interviewed for the vacancy created by the firing of Hue Jackson six days ago.

If Gruden came back not only would the fans go nuts, but i'm sure the players would be motivated as hell too. A legit experienced coach with a super bowl ring who is known to love the franchise, you can't go wrong with Gruden. Hopefully Reggie doesn't got that "I need a Green Bay assistant" permanently on his brain.

is Chucky came back the Raider Nation would go nuts

don't see it happening though
looks like that pic was taken at ricky's sports bar in san leandro..

last time gruden was here in the bay (i think it was for the MNF game between the 9ers/Steelers) he went to ricky's where they made some kind of an event for him, a fan asked him if he would ever consider coming back to coach the raiders and he said all they need to do is ask..

get to it Reggie!!!
