us raiders fans knows how much talent this team has. and the potential we will reach next season. in reality, we were a couple of plays away on D from having a significantly better record, but it is what is. A new D coach will bring huge changes to this D, and that alone will win us a couple more games next year. Not to mention we will have DMC back and healthy (hopefully) and Palmer fresh and ready, i will be disappointed with anything less than a 10 win season next year, which doesn't seem impossible.

wasn't this talent supposed to take the raiders to the playoffs ?

stop making excuses... DMC wasn't why the raiders finished their season 8-8 ...

Palmer will not take the Raiders to no playoffs, look at all those years with the Bengals and he only took them to the playoffs in 2006..

keep on dreaming and being delusional that Palmer is the QB that'll lead the Raiders to the playoffs next season..

The raiders have a better chance with Campbell because he has better chemistry with the team..

are you that stupid? our problem wasn't on offense, as has been stated about as many times as you've posted in this thread. it was our defense, chuck has never been a good defensive coordinator. with the bengals he ranked 28th, 30th, and 25th in yards allowed in the years he was there. he just ran al's defense.

if our defense makes one stop were in the playoffs this year, nothin to do with palmer, he put us in positions to win the game.

of course campbell has better chemistry, he's been with the team a lot longer than 3 months.

Offense did okay, but Palmer threw how many INT's? and you think he'll minimize them next season? NO HE WONT!

The Raiders have a better shot with Campbell than Carson ...

but didn't you guys say in the beginning of the season that Bresnahan was the shit and he knew his shit?

and with rookie ass Hue Jackson that the raiders would have gone to the playoffs and end with a better record?

and I'm the stupid one here?

McKenzie gets hired and you motherfuckers already talking about playoffs and what not? ha ha

and now you see why I call you guys delusional .... don't call it a "better season begins" until you guys see what changes they make first in the coaching staff and then the players...then you can start talking how good the raiders will do next season..

dumb fucks..

Report: New Oakland Raiders G.M. may replace Hue Jackson as coach

By Jerry McDonald

ESPN's Chris Mortensen speculated Saturday on the network's "NFL Countdown" show that new Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie may consider replacing coach Hue Jackson with Packers defensive assistant Winston Moss.
At his season-ending news conference, Jackson allowed for the fact that a new general manager could look for his own coach and a new start but didn't think it was headed that way.
CSN Bay Area reported that "three sources close to the team" said Jackson will remain with the team and that "Reggie McKenzie and Hue Jackson are joined at the hip." Jackson has helped improve a moribund offense in two years, the first year as offensive coordinator.
Moss, the Packers' linebackers coach since 2006, interviewed for the Raiders' vacant head-coach position in 2009, but the job went to Tom Cable.

Could be a re-interview for Hue

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Saturday, January 7th, 2012 at 1:53 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Didn’t see the ESPN report where Chris Mortensen speculated Hue Jackson could be moved aside by new general manager Reggie McKenzie in favor of Green Bay defensive assistant Winston Moss. It was picked up by Profootballtalk.com and apparently was said over the air because ESPN hasn’t seen fit to give it a headline on its Web site.

The PFT headline reads “Reggie McKenzie will have the power to fire Hue Jackson” . . . of course he does. McKenzie doesn’t take the job otherwise. He has been a candidate for GM before and it was a matter of time before he got hired. There’s no way he accepts any job without the ability to hire and/or fire his coach.

The fact is, once McKenzie came aboard, Jackson was essentially re-interviewing for the job he got a year ago. While GMs like the idea of hiring their own guy, don’t discount the fact that Jackson has some distinct advantages over an outside candidate and McKenzie knows it. He’s passionate about the organization, knows the roster and already has been implementing a system of offense for the past two years.

He already started the process of rebuilding it for Carson Palmer, who will be the quarterback for the foreseeable future.

It’s just as easy to speculate Jackson will be retained as it is to assume he’ll be dismissed. He’s got one of 32 NFL head coaching jobs, and it’s not like he’ll be in great demand for another if he butts heads with McKenzie over power. It’s more likely he’ll get on board with McKenzie and relish the opportunity to coach the team and work with someone who will rebuild the infrastructure of the organization.

Bottom line is it’s McKenzie’s call, but a lot of this is up to Jackson and his willingness to work with the general manager rather than feel he has been stripped of power. Following the Green Bay model, McKenzie will stay out of Jackson’s way when it comes to on-field stuff. Mike McCarthy has input with the Packers but ultimately it’s Ted Thompson’s call when it comes to player acquisition, the draft, contracts, etc.

As much as Jackson was willing to take on more within the organization, as he said following the season-ending loss to the Chargers, the McKenzie hiring could be the best thing that could have happened for his career. It’d be better for the organization if McKenzie gives Jackson at least a year to maintain a semblance of continuity unless he thinks they simply can’t work together.

BROWN A FINALIST

Will the third time be a charm for Hall of Fame finalist Tim Brown?

The guess here is no, simply because from what I’ve gleaned from talking to people involved in that process is that numbers for wide receivers don’t carry enough weight because the game changed so dramatically to favor the pass. Without a signature moment in a Super Bowl or having played for more winning teams, it’ll be a tough go for Brown.

see i dont agree with that. brown should get in on numbers alone. these people who choose the hall of fame need to be reevaluated.

Carson Palmer is light years better than Jason Campbell.. and now that this is his team he will start a fresh season and not be coming off a couch straight into action..

nobody wanted Chuck Bresh.. wtf?! we hated when Al brought him back.. most of us even hated that he fired Marshall, he did okay last season.. Winston Moss/ Pagano was who most of us wanted here if Marshall was gettin tha boot.. as a matter of fact Bresh was brought in as a "defensive assistant" but we couldn't get nobody we wanted to come here so he was promoted to DC.. horrible choice and most of us seen it comin..

last time I respond to an ignorant niner fan.. speak on your own squad if you have no clue what your speakin on..
