Porter had planned to explore options with other teams before deciding whether to entertain an offer to return to Oakland.
That right there tells you how bad Porter wants to return. We don't need that mf anyway. He's never caught 100 passes in a season or even had 1,000 yards receiving.

Yeah, because if he really wanted to go back he wouldn't wait to see what other teams had to offer. It's not like he's going to get that many offers anyway. He never posted more than 100 receptions or 1,000 yards in a season. He flat out sucked last year, sucked so bad he was the first player Jacksonville cut. Obviously Oakland is on the bottom of his list and he's probably on the bottom of Oakland's too.

The Raiders made a number of high-profile moves during the 2008 offseason, trading for DeAngelo Hall and signing free-agent safety Gibril Wilson and receiver Javon Walker. Hall and Wilson are no longer on the team, and Walker failed to live up to his billing. But that doesn’t mean Al Davis won’t make moves this year. Davis told the Contra Costa Times that while there were lessons to be learned, the Raiders will still strive to improve their football team.

“You always learn by experience, but I don’t believe in consistency,” Davis said. “I don’t believe that you (change) because you failed one year, that you can’t succeed in the next year.”
…
“It’s a tough year for me because we didn’t do well in free agency. But I’d rather be right than be consistent. So, we’ll see what happens.”

The Oakland Raiders will reportedly have interest in signing former Jets WR Laverneus Coles and former Rams WR Drew Bennett.

It is being reported that Oakland is shopping running back Michael Bush around the league. That is somewhat surprising because Bush is a talented player who is versatile. He may be easier to trade than the more expensive Justin Fargas.

While nothing is concrete, a source close to the situation said that the Raiders are toying with the idea of pursuing free-agent tackles Khalif Barnes of Jacksonville and Marvel Smith of Pittsburgh.

The Raiders are looking for both a right and left tackle and would ideally like to add one in free agency and the other through the draft. The team hasn't made a move on Barnes or Smith yet, but it could strike. Smith can play both right and left tackle and he is from Oakland. Barnes is also an experienced player who could help Oakland if it decides to pursue him.

Meanwhile, Oakland guard Cooper Carlisle is going to visit an undisclosed team Saturday with more trips being lined up during the weekend. Oakland is trying to re-sign Carlisle, who many believe is the Raiders' best offensive lineman.

This would be fuckin stupid. Bush is young and talented but its not like he's got high trade value right now and Fargas is almost done. They probally wouldn't get more than a 4th round draft pick if they're lucky and Al would waste it on some stupid CB.

damn I hope we don't trade Bush... I think he has a bright future... and is a good RB... but right now hasn't proven enough to get a good enough value.. it would not be worth it at all

I don't think we can rely on McFadden and Fargas completely... we should def shop Fargas over Bush

and we're lookin at offensive linemen from the Steelers and Jacksonville?

I dunno enough about those specific players... however I know O-Line was the weakness of both those teams last season... so I dunno...
