Rusto....There are none. Allmost all are speakers are box type specific. Meaning If you use a speaker in a ported enclosure that was designed for a sealed one, not only will it sound like shit , you'll blow the speaker..........and vise versa.

Subs are designd to be use with a certian type of air ressistance. All subs in theory are whats called "isobaric", meaning then run off a " push-pull" system of air pressure. Now there are Isobaric Speakers, and even Isobaric enclosures, but all speakers in theory run off a push-pull air ressistance. If the proper amount of ressistance ( either + or - ) isn't there for the speaker, then the speaker itself has to try and compensate for whats missing, typically this is when a good deal of speakers will blow after time. the magnets will constantly get to hot. the speakers will work to hard or hardly at all and they will run themselves into the ground.

However, if one was to disregard that.....a ported box will pressurize a sealed vehicle much faster than a sealed box...but that doesn't really mean shyt

Jonah......Best Buy can't tell you anything....they don't really do any custom work, I know, I used to be a supervisor at store 135 in Pleasant Hill, Ca.

Your best bet is going to be to take everything you have to a custom install shop with some creds. A nice fiberglass set up would look awesome in a ride like that, but you would need to find someone who knows what there doing with it.

One thing I can tell you is your going to need wire and alot of it. I would suggest 2 gauge from your Batt to your caps, 4 gauge from your caps to your amps and run no less than 8 gauge from your monoblocks to your subs.

I would also advise getting a seperate digital crossover for your subs, your amps may come equipped with them, but trust me they never work as good as the seperate ones, never. You should get a digital voltage reader as well, unless your caps come with them on top, well even still with that equipment I'd get a seperate one as well to monitor the voltage just before it reaches the amps.

I would also suggest alot of Liquid Poly Foam, or Dynamat lining. I know alot of people think that it doesn't do anything, but your vehicles ability to hold SPL ( sound pressure level ) is soley based on the density of the materials in your car and what its made of. When your vehicle vibrates or shakes pressure is lost by the movement of the metals. Harding up the surfaces will retain a much greater pressure and in turn generate a louder truer sound.

^^aint that the damn truth. i remember when bestbuy told me the best way to tune the gains on an amp was to turn the volume on the head unit all the way down the against the gains on the amp then turn the volume on the head unit back up and listen to the subs then repeat this process till you were happy hahahahahah ya right. this process is call WE DONT WANNA DISTURB OUR CUSTOMERS WITH YOUR LOUD STEREO. the proper way is the have your system up the its peak volume then adjust your gains based on the distortion coming from the subs. Fuck bestbuy!

Yea...BB sucks....but after I got out of Installer school they offered me the Sup. job and was payin good too, had to take it. When I left cali they tried to get me to come supervise the sales in Car-Fi at the Little Rock store, but i wasn't haven't that, besides theres only so much Sony, Aiwa & Pioneer decks one can sell before we can't live the Lie any more...hahaha..... and got tired of all the company bullshit. I hated being told to sell people shit they didn't need. If i wouldn't use it why in the fucc would I sell it?

I remember one of sales managers yelled at me cause I told one of my installers at the time not to sell this dude 15 sqf of Dynamat when he was installing a set of Aiwa 5.25" door speakers in his old ass two door Corolla. ( the sales manager was the guy who sold him the shit inside and told the customer to ask for the other stuff outside in the install bay).......WTF is dynamat going to do for that shit?.......lol

if u lookin at a pair of subs, u could just get one l7 or l5 itll save room and shit... one l7 will usually slap louder than a pair of other subs. u get a l7 ina ported box or them kicker sealed boxes... its gonna slap.

not too good on techno or fast beat shit... but if u want straight bass.
