ill find a link for this. but if someone can confirm this for me.

the research said that a way to prevent a flu virus from entering, is to be in humid conditions. a place with hot and wet air, that the virus can't be mobile and is slow to move, because of the density of the humid air and will breakdown in humid air.

the reason we get a flu in the winter, is cuz of the cold and very dry condition. it allows the virus to move very freely in the air.

if you have a humidifier, turn that on in the rooms of your homes.

they said the same about bird flu
"they" say a lot huh? lol...

i agree. its' always a HUGE deal...and nothin really ever happens.

IF millions of people die, then GOOD...our fucking planet is over populated.

think i'm being a dick? even if it was ME then oh well....that's life....there's way too many fucking humans on this planet, and conditions are great for weird ass viruses being bred by those hog farms with 700,000 swine who all live in their own shit piles....i mean come on, anyone who thinks virsuses won't hit that up as a hot spot, is retarded....cause that's basically what happened....

i heard there's cases in Oregon and Washington....I ain't trippin...I got health insurance, and I'm healthy...and IF I die, then so be it. At least I did my part by not being alive and consuming excessive amounts of shit and fucking off the planet.

not that i wanna die, lol...just sayin, if i'm okay with it happening to others, i gotta be okay with it happening to me.

UNITED STATES: Military resurrects deadly flu virus

22 October 2003
AUSTIN — The US military is attempting to resurrect the influenza virus that killed up to 40 million people in 1918. Several genes of the extraordinarily lethal “Spanish flu” have been isolated and introduced into contemporary flu strains. The new strain has proved to be lethal for mice, while the contemporary flu it was made from had hardly any effect.

The Spanish flu was highly infectious and killed a very high percentage of those infected, including many younger people. It caused life expectancy in the US in 1918 to drop by 10 years.

Despite the very dangerous nature of the 1918 virus, efforts to reconstruct it began in the mid-1990s, when Dr Jeffrey Taubenberger from the US Armed Forces Institute of Pathology succeeded in recovering and sequencing fragments of the viral RNA from preserved tissues of 1918 victims.

After partially unravelling the genetic sequence of the virus, the scientists went a step further and succeeded in creating a live virus containing two 1918 genes that proved to be very lethal in animal experiments.

A resuscitation of the Spanish flu is neither necessary nor warranted from a public health point of view. Allegedly, the recent experiments sought to test the efficacy of existing antiviral drugs on the 1918 construct. But there is would be no need for antiviral drugs against the 1918 strain if it was not recreated in the first place. “It simply does not make any scientific sense to create a new threat just to develop new countermeasures against it”, said Jan van Aken, a biologist with the anti-biological weapon group, the Sunshine Project. “This particularly dangerous eradicated strain could wreak havoc if released, deliberately or accidentally.”

Construction of new maximum security (BSL-4) laboratories for “bio-defence” research has been justified by Washington in part by citing the potential of the Spanish flu as a biological weapon. Influenza usually requires a low level of containment; but when scientists begin recombining virulence-related genes, the danger dramatically increases. The University of Texas Medical Branch's BSL-4 plans influenza “gene reassortment” experiments in maximum containment.

“This kind of research is creating a vicious circle and could prompt a race by bio-defence scientists to genetically engineer unthinkable diseases”, said Edward Hammond from the Sunshine Project.

“If Taubenberger worked in a Chinese, Russian or Iranian laboratory, his work might well be seen as the `smoking gun' of an offensive bio-warfare program”, noted van Aken.

A Sunshine Project briefing paper on the “Reconstruction of the Spanish Influenza Virus” is posted at <http://www.sunshine-project.org>.

I'm gonna go with the Man Made theory. All of a sudden this flu comes out of nowhere. Right in time when the country is in financial trouble, there is a new president, and all kinda other shit. It is not far fetched that this is a plan to exterminate some folks. It has been done befoe for whatever reasons:

-Injecting men with syphiliss in Tuskeegee
-Giving the Indians blankets contaminated with small pox
-Blowin up the levees in New Orelans
-Crashing planes into the WTC
too many to list

im starting to wonder if it is man amde i saw some bbc report last nite, this guy was talking about it eing man made. also the fact that some vials of viruses was missing from a military base in the east coast.

it was released in mexico at a pig farmed, owned and under control by a us company.

vials are missing

this flu is a hybrid virus of the bird flu and swine flu. strange, the viruses jsut intermingled.

im not saying conspiracy theory yet, but i have my doubts.

something is not adding up to me.

like the unibomber said - 'all the problems in this world are man made problems'

'at least in the past more than likely your problems were not manmade, but were made by nature'

us humans are a danger to our ownselves. what a fucced up species we are.

News for you - this resurrection of the virus has been published in Science long time ago, and after that they infected monkeys with it (which came out in Nature in 2007 if I am not mistaken), and that's how we know why it was so deadly and killed young healthy individuals instead of the old and the babies as it usually does (because the death is from hyperinflammation in your lungs caused by the immune system, which is strongest in young males, overreacting to the virus). Without this research we would have never known this.

New diseases always come "out of nowhere" and "all of a sudden" - that's why they're new

No need to invoke a conspiracy to explain that. Was the 1347 plague (or whatever it was) a conspiracy? Was the 1918 flu a conspiracy? No. When why should any new disease that appears be a conspiracy? But that's what people say for everything, from AIDS to swine flu. Not only that, but the frequency of the appearance of new diseases is expected to increase, because of globalization, overpopulation, environmental destruction and global warming, all of which cause exposure of people to germs they have never been exposed to before, cooccurence of germs that normally do not occur together, and shifting geographic distributions of diseases.

Nest thing I expect to see in this thread is somebody claiming that vaccines cause autism...

I remember this guy I met in the mall here n Tulsa like 6 months ago. He was telling me that the goverment was fixing to release a virus. That will kill alot of people. So that way they can make billions off of it. Shit sounds crazy to me.

Over 10,000 people have died from "Regular" Flu since January. Where's all the Fear mongering about that??????? People are scared of everything, Bird Flu, Sars, African Bees, Y2K. America has turned into a nation that is scared of its own shadow.
