its funny, lil wayne and soldja boy did it right in front of everyone face and niggas is still confused. i dont have mutha fuckin tens of thousands of posts on this shit because of no reason. i realize the visibility.

take that how you want.

milk this sort of free publicity while you can....there are thousands of websites you can turn over a camaraderie with the posters and webmasters and musicians and just overall real niggas...if you plan it correct people all over the fucking place will know your name before you even officially come out. all you have to do is analyze the situation youre in and do things to manipulate it to your wants and needs.

it is everyones individual fault they arent where they want to be

if the game changes then you learn the new set of rules.
make the internet your full time job and youll see more return than you ever dreamed

but you gotta be smart about how you attack it

on a closing note
kevin liles says theres three types of people in life

people who make it happen, people who watch it happen and people who have it happen to them

I wuz informed Dago Braves droppin rackz to open. Either they helpin pay for the artist to kome or payin to perform. It aint my biz to discuss numbers but them katz droppin doe. Wayne komin to cox arena and guess who openin... Shit we should all sit down together and map SD success out. If everybody knew they roll, and played it, we kan put this city on. Junk, Moss, Myself, siccness staff, etc. We spend too much time bloggin about it... Let's make it happen!!!
i dont think they droppin anything to perform.. Shulace has been doin shows for a minute now but doin shows dont increase sales at all especially if youre doing a regular show which is rappin hella loud wit hella niggas behind you un rehearsed.... fresh off smokin n drinkin barely rememberin your words to a song that barely anybody knows in the crowd......niggas gotta kno they role... im not gonna stand behind somebody that can barely rap .. or ur vocab is sub par.. or u lackin respect for the game, theres alot that plays when it comes to rap n most these rappers aint got it... but they hella talented other ways they peoples persons.. they communicate well.. they have connects.. etc

There is not enough visibilty to what goes on in local hip hop to the "Regular Person"....the only "FM RADIO" Shows (not online which there is an abundance of Dago SD, Proof of life, Dago Shine Show on Jelly Radio), that play local Hip Hop is the ILLFONIX Show w/ DJ Sachamo on Jazz 88.3 every Wednesday, but I am not even sure if they still do it....WEST COAST workout with Vanya, is a very bias show from what I have heard...and thats about it. I know they prolly just cant take the chance to budget it...Clear Channel has been laying folks off recently and cutting back on things they already do on there regular shows..there was a SD Pirate station that had empty slots, but I told some people about it that didn't ever pursue it...it was pirate 96.9 but I think the FCC Radied them.
SD needs a legit College Radio show....that plays dope underground music and is open to playing local artist...with good promo, it could open up alot of doors.

yea i feel all that but none of those radio stations have the listnening power that z90 and 98.9 and yes those are clear channel so u have to go other directions to get ur music played... building relationships with people on the radio does help.. but doesnt get you in.. this is when its about who you kno rather than what you kno.. and we kno the right avenues to go about putting the songs on our very own big radio stations.. as well as the underground stations ... shout outs to 106.1 roadstar and Jelly radio for pushin tha line and helping Dago out!!

aye CHRYMES. get at me...I can let you in on some Photoshop tips and secrets. Just a bunch of shit I learned over the years. Little shit that can make a BIG ass difference and make your covers stand out. I agree with the the others when they say that your main strength is in your marketing/business/network. I don't know how old you are ,but you look like a young dude. That's going in your favor big time. I'll be 38 soon, and if I had the connections you have now...20 years ago...doing the business moves you do now. I would put down the mic and go hard behind the scenes and make shit happen. Sometimes, people try to do too much and too many things at once and don't give 100%. How can you give 100% 24/7 to multiple tasks? It's good to be self sufficient. Trust me...I know. I can do it all. Beats, Graphics, Web design...and I can even rap. All this shit I know didn't happen over night. It takes time. I'm not saying to give up your goal of being a rapper. Nor to stop trying to "perfect" your craft. Why not take a craft you've already perfected and make it even better. There are 100,000,000 rappers in this world. Very, Very, Very few of those have the inside connects that you do, and of those that have connects, very few of them don't know what to do with it. That puts you in a rare position that not too many people get to be in. RUN WITH IT! I do like your music...but your business brain is what will put you through to a national and overseas level.

I CAN DIG YA OPINION. AND I WOULD LOVE TO SIT DOWN AND GO OVER SOME PHOTOSHOP TIPS WITH U HOLMES. IMA BE 27 NEXT MONTH, SO YEAH IM STILL KINDA YOUNG. I SEE WHUT UR SAYING AND U HAVE SOME VALID POINTS. ITS IS HARD TO BE ''MR. I DO IT ALL'' BUT I TRIED BUILDING A TEAM IN THE PAST SEVERAL TIMES AND THAT DIDNT PAN OUT. EVEN HOMIES I GREW UP WITH DONT TRUELY SUPPORT WHUT I DO. THEY WANA AFTERPARTY WITH THE STARS THO. AS MANY SHOWS AS I THROWN AND NOT ONCE HAS A CAT FROM THE CREW I USE TO BANG EVEN COME TO PEEP ME OUT. SO I HAD TO BUILD A FANBASE OUTTA TOTAL STRANGERS AND I WOULDNT HAVE IT ANYOTHER WAY. CUZ I KNOW THE FANS I PICKED UP ALONG THE WAY DONT LOVE ME JUST CUZ IM FROM THEY BLOCK OR GANG OR WHUTEVER. THEY DIG ME CUZ OF MY MUSIC AND HIGH ENERGY STAGE PROFORMANCES. IM ADDICTED TO ROCKING THE MIC, WHITHER UP ON STAGE OR IN THE BOOTH. SO IT WOULD BE HARD FOR ME TO STEP AWAY AND FOCUS ON JUST THE BIZZNESS SIDE OF SHIT. THANK U FOR UR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT G. ITS HEAVILY APPRECIATED.

I don't think Clear Channel owns z90 no more. They were broken up. I have a show that i wanna do and in the next few days will be sendin some of yall PMs to see if you can assist. I'm still building the blueprint because I aint tryna lose right now, and I aint tryna roll no dice. The focus will NOT be on no rapper dapper shit but will have some acts. On another note I try to utilize Myspace for what it was intended. That shit is all about adverisements (they sellin our info on there and makin millions) but not the way we usin it to saturate people wit bulletins. I look at all aspects of what these kids 18-25 years old is into and doin. 20% of African Americans 18-25 male and female got Tupac or Mac Dre as their profile music. No brainer. 40% of them got R&B. hmmm. That's just the surface shit I got a study that gets deeper to activities they do, clothes they like, movies they like, etc etc.The study is broken down by age, sex, and race. It only includes San Diego and surrounding cities. I didn't get Oceanside.

Well...ur wrong about the house of blues shows and the Cox Arena show coming up....they actually throw the shows themselves...and refuse to slang slots for openers...and all shows have sold out except 1.....so they make a VERY good profit....I guess u would say they're getting paid to play?..its sorta like wut u do but on a Larger scale and it makes better sense Financially (if that's ur target)....BUT like u said...that doesn't always equal to Larger sales....jus a GOOD LOOK and Sum dough at the end of the show....so I don't kno if 1 answer is THE right answer for Everybody...guess it depends on ur Motive and Goal right??? Ahhhhhhhhh....I don't kno,im leaN'n and goin to sleep Now......

.....Carry on

What About Internet Radio
I think its a great idea, but personally I don't know many people that listens to the radio let alone internet radio. Most the times that people have asked me to check them out on the internet radio was usually like 10 p.m. and im tucked in tight by 8 hahah. Also when I get on the internet..Im either doin some kind of work im concentrating on..and need no distractions or Im just tryin to relax on some forums or some shit, and most that shit is....checking out this media file or somethin..so i would have to keep turning off the internet radio...

I don't know why the internet radio has not taken off. When it started years ago I thought it would but never did. A channel 24 spot that's hot would be tight highlighting artist with videos, guest, freestyles, etc. but on some professional shit. A big San Diego Rap award show would be tight to then bring it to a West Coast award show. A rap show wit strippers have the male strippers go on early to get the females there. Then when the rappers come on females are strippin on poles throughout the club. That's Babylon but if it can be done people would mess wit it. People need to start makin DVD movies wit their music in it. Old shit new spins. They been sellin commercial time on BET, MTV, all that, the office was in Hillcrest upstairs from 24 hour fitness. A couple a racks gets yo shit run. A little more for peak time but hella affordable. Don't nobody want a flyer these days.
Last note, I watched that Biggie movie last night and that shit was PROPAGANDA. Damn they changed the truth but I aint mad that's what they was supposed to do.

for the record, when i get in my car i listen to the mexican stations and smooth jazz 98.1.

and i think t-pain is actually tight and even if i had a show with the most underground of songs or whatever, a t pain song would get thrown on that shit because niggas is in like lil groups where they cant fuck with the other group..i dont get that

i think you should make underground niggas listen to gucci and jeezy and soldja boy and shawty lo until they realize theres a certain something in everyone, and out of so many songs out you are bound to like atleast 3 or 4 even if your a hater and its a guilty pleasure...similarly all the gangsters or niggas that just think theyre way too cool for hip hop should be forced to hear opio or z-man or orko or guilty simpson or madlib or other hip hop shit till they realize that shit aint all that bad and they were hating too..

one thing pimp c did before his death that i took a lesson from is the song 'knocking doors down' he really put the big problems in perspective on a song, put it to the table like it was a conference call between the city and laid out solutions. not just the song itself but what it stood for- i think thats what were all getting at here....communicating the issues and executing the solutions

if most of us saw returns in rap we wouldnt be selling drugs or pimping or whatever the fuck half yall niggas do on the side...wed put money into the sd rap scene and make the younger kids feel the shit they dont know about until it spreads outward and then, i mean maybe san diego might win...niggas past 25 are worried about survival...under 25 they have time to become obsessed with the energy and movement of music...closer to getting high school or junior high kids to feel ya shit better off youll be...but that dosent mean rap childish? i mean...i cut school the first time to buy snoops album when it came out.

I am very open minded, I have alway thought TI & Luda were dope ass fuck, and most of the SoSo Def shit, (J. Dupri was real selective with his beats for a minute) I just can't stomach that T-Pain shit...not on some ignorance shit, I'm just real big on art...not saying dude has absolutely no talent and EVERYONE has bitten him to grab a piece of his success...but auto-tune is like painting by numbers to to me and yeah it looks good, but where is the passion and creation, and I believe there are way more talented artist that should be receiving his spotlight...way more. The Cunninlyguist (look em up) smash on 99% of dudes in the south and most folks haven't heard em yet...Exposure isn't based on talent anymore.

Free shows are good to, I couldn't find a venue that will give me a flat rate and cover the overhead, to promote a dope show for them..which would fairly easy.
