This is actually one of the only blockbuster games that's came out recently that i'd have to say is not worth $60.. It's only 10-15 hours long.. Ofcourse you can replay thru in a different costume, whoohoo.. Maybe if the multiplayer was included it'd be worth it.. I hope we dont start seein hella games comein out and chargeing later on for multiplayer.. that'd fuckin suck.
I still don't get your angle about the $60 tag and a justified purchase when you shelled out over $400 for a system and game, but whatever. However, I do agree with you about these companies trying to get over. One company in particular people need to watch out for is EPIC GAMES. You ever peep the article where Mark Rein was saying they could have saved the second half of Gears 2 and released it as DLC for $$$$?

Wow, Epic said that? Fuck that! Makes me wonder why they havnt released more DLC for Gears yet then.. But yeah, the day that multiplayer becomes something extra you have to pay for is the day i stick to PC gameing lol

i've played a couple chapters of RE5 so far. i'll say that this isn't really my favorite genre, and this is the first RE game i've played. it's ok. i'll probably play it through unless it gets ridiculously difficult. the graphics are hella clean, but i just don't feel comfortable with the movement...it doesn't seem very fluid. the aiming kinda weird to me too. either way, the game looks amazing, and it is fun...just not groundbreaking like i was expecting for some reason.

I am not saying GTA is not the basis for the genre or use as a reference point. What I am saying is GTA /ROCKSTAR did not INVENT a new genre. This is YOUR claim, and so far you've yet to prove it! LMAO!
You are continuing to harp on one word in a post even after I've gone so far as to take that word back and restate my original post.
Wolfesntein. Karate Champ. DK. And I don't know of anyone in their right mind who would say SF II was the orignator of 2-D fighting when you obviously have SF.
Yeah, people like us that have been playing games since they were kids would know a little more about Wolfenstein, DK and all that shit. Any average person isn't going to know that. The kids buying video games today don't know any of that shit.

And even Angry Video Game nerd has said that he'd never heard of Street Fighter untill Street Fighter 2 came out. That's another game you are claiming as evidence of something but... DID YOU EVER PLAY IT, LET ALONE HEAR OF IT BEFORE SF2?

However, not too many people will agree that GTA3 invented a new genre. That, my friend, is the boldest statement of them all.

Good day...
Besides the fact that you never even heard of Urban Chaos before you "researched" the interwebs for evidence of "sand-box" games before GTA, I don't give a shit what anybody says. That game is not comparable to GTA. Period.

I stand firm in saying that GTA invented/refined (call it what you want) the "sandbox" genre. Any way you slice it, you never played anything close to GTA before it came out, except for the original GTA for PC and Playstation, which was released in 97. THATS TWO YEARS BEFORE URBAN CHAOS.

Dude, you and I both know that the OG GTA and GTA III....are NOTHING alike. Cmon man, youre just grasping at straws here.

And why do you continue to argue? It is obvious you two see this in a completely different light and neither one of you is going to back down, yet you keep throwing extra shit out there for HERESY to counter argue against...just let it rest already.

Not true.

Yeah, people like us that have been playing games since they were kids would know a little more about Wolfenstein, DK and all that shit. Any average person isn't going to know that. The kids buying video games today don't know any of that shit.
The average kid may not know it, but that doesn't negate the fact that these games helped redefine gaming and opened it up for other games. Kids now days may not have heard of Jackie Robinson, let alone Satchel Paige or Josh Gibson, but does that mean they are irrelevent to baseball? No, but that's your premise: Kids don't know so it doesn't exist. LMAO!

And even Angry Video Game nerd has said that he'd never heard of Street Fighter untill Street Fighter 2 came out. That's another game you are claiming as evidence of something but... DID YOU EVER PLAY IT, LET ALONE HEAR OF IT BEFORE SF2?
Yes, I played SF when Round Table Pizza was open in Rancho. They had the one with the two big buttons that you had to pound hella hard. Now, my question to you is why do you think playing a game is a prerequisite to citing it as a source of information or proof? Why are you citing Angry Video Game Nerd as a source or end all? We are not talking about Angry Video Game Nerd talking about he never heard of SF until SF2 came out. We are talking about SF2 not being the ORIGINATOR of fighting games. What you're saying and what I'm saying are two completely different things here.

Read my first response to you on page 4. Any person with a semi-functional brain can see that unlike yourself, I already knew what I was talking about and didn't have to "research" anything. In fact, I didn't give you any proof of what I was talking about until pages later.

Any way you slice it, you never played anything close to GTA before it came out, except for the original GTA for PC and Playstation, which was released in 97. THATS TWO YEARS BEFORE URBAN CHAOS.
Wrong. Refer to what I Pukokeki Ioulo Momu said. Do you have anything else to add? You get the last word here as I'm tired of going back and forth with someone who is completely clueless. Make it funny, make it intelligent and logical, and you'll be famous all over the internets.

As well as Urban Chaos is nothing like GTA. According that the link he provided, they compared urban chaos to GTA3 in the way of, you can drive cars, access rooftops, and there is non-linear gameplay.

The original GTA meets those requirements.

Also, I think it's ridiculous to say that I can't compare Grand Theft Auto with Grand Theft Auto.

The entire point, which you choose to ignore, is that 10 years from now... despite "Urban Chaos" and any other game on that list... People will say that GTA was the origin of sandbox games.

I'll bump this thread in ten years and be correct. LoL.

argue about who's more of a fag between you two. hmmm, that's a tough one.
Shouldn't you be out mean mugging a camera for your myspace?
