in a recent debate i had with another member we kind of touched on religeon.

my question is this not endoring one religeon over another is something our constitution requires, but by denying that there is a superior being are we in fact endorsing Atheism over all established religeons??

We never deny there isn't a higher superior being. I mean it's even in the currency.
what about the secularists that want it taken out.

or the polititians that think like 206 and want all mention of any higher being taken out of every cornerstone of american life

Well I don't agree with the "every corner stone of American life" statement because I'll believe in what I want religiously no matter who says what, but I do believe in a seperation of Church and State.

No, because this: "every corner stone of American life" to me means that no one would be able to pray, go to Church, have a religion, etc. and that is too extremist for me. But taking away Church from the Government and the Government from Church, does not sponser either side. Infact it keeps the peace between both groups.

Knew thought, all though Atheist are not religious Atheism is STILL their religious view. Thus if we endorse Atheism...which could be from anything along the lines of saying there is no God, banning religions etc. then the Government would go against the Constitution. (if this didnt make sense note it's 1am and I had 4 hours of sleep yesterday.)

religion shouldn't even be express in a government. if it is, it going to cuase conflicts with other religions, religion should just be express in ppl's personal lifes.

Endorsing Atheism would indicate to definite push to say there is no God, etc. However, not endorsing a particular religion definitely does not indicate that it is false, just that you don't favor it above others. On the surface your argument seems to make sense, but you're using faulty logic.

Here's my question...I know you've all probably heard about those people who are fighting to keep the 10 Commandments monument in the lobby of some Alabama judicial building. What is your view on that? Should they be removed?

IMO...I think they should be removed. By them being there, I feel that the government is endorsing Christianity. (which would not be considered a separation of church & state- if they'll violate a 'minor' part of the Constitution such as this, what will be next? no more free speech???) I can bet that if they had a monument of a part of the Koran, or some other religion's holy doctrine, those people would all be fighting to have it removed. The only reason they want it to stay is because it fits into their perception of the 'right' religion.

I agree with you 100%

Shit I'd have a fit with that.
Any such belief in such building would send the wrong message to the public. Die for God and get a gang of coochie etc....

YOUR NOT ENDORSING EITHER, BUT BY HAVING "IN GOD WE TRUST" ON BILLS IS LEANING MORE TOWARDS RELIGION RATHER THAN ATHEISM.......IN AMERICA YOU ARE ENTITLED TO BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU WANT. I THINK IT IS THE SAME AS WHEN PRAY WAS REMOVED FROM SCHOOLS....NOT TO ENDORSE ATHEISM BUT TO ALLOW EACH INDIVIDUAL TO CHOOSE HIS OR HER OWN BELIEFS.

I dont know man, thats kind of a wack ass statement. Thats just saying your religion is better then theirs. I mean, there plenty of fucked up things in the bible [rape, murder, genocide, pedophilia, insest etc. etc. etc.] not too mention it teaches humans to live a certain way that millions of people are offended by, including myself. So if I were to see that shit in a court house I would be sick to my stomache.
