we got gannon on the cheap though and nobody really knew what he was capable of. we know what mcnabb brings to the table and it's going to cost.
sure it's gonna cost money... but fuck it... I'd rather spend money on players than sit back and be fuckin cheap

we need to make a big move... what do we have to lose??? another 11 games??? what's new?!?

this teams been rebuilding for how many years now?

this is the NFL... teams can turn shit around very fast... Miami went from a 1 win team to making the playoffs

and look at all the good teams in the NFL... they all have good QB's... it's the most important position on the field... why not trade for a guy who's proven he can get it done?

McNabb is 33... that isn't terribly old... he's got some years left in him... and maybe Russell can learn a thing or 2... McNabb is a veteran who's been through a lot, he's dealt with his fan base turning on him, he'd be the perfect guy to mentor Russell (if there's any hope for Russell left at all)

it's all rumors right now anyways... so we gotta sit back and see what happens

Aso is a better fit for Al's man to man coverage...theres not a better man to man CB in the league and Im not sure how well Samuel would do outside of a cover 2 scheme.

With that said, Mcnabb would bring alot more excitement to the team and Id love to have him, not sure at what cost though.

our defense has enough problems as it is, imagine how things would go without namm out there. I don't even know what to think about this. I was hoping we'd trade a 3rd or later round pick for vick.

I wouldnt give up Aso for McNabb and Samuel....

McNabb only has 3-4 more years left....it might take that long to build the team around him...and while we get Samuel who is a good corner we lose Aso who is better and a year younger....makes no sense.....McNabb for a 2nd and 4th would make more sense but then again this is Al Davis were talking about here

you guys gotta remember Aso is only under contract for 2 more years anyways... if we don't trade him now there's a very good chance he won't resign in 2 years when he's a FA... nothing wrong with getting some value for him now while we know we can and he's playing at a high level still (not saying he won't be playing at a high level later on... but you never know...)

and if he does wanna resign then we'll have to pay him huge money again, but I'm pretty sure he won't sign another contract with Oakland, unless we're looking like a contender by then.... he got his big payday, now he wants to win a ring

so you can say... "McNabb will only be good for 3-4 years, yeah... probably... but Aso is only good for 2 more years to us, most likely

and even if McNabb is only good for 3-4 years... Russell (or any other young QB) will have a better chance to succeed if they can sit on the bench and play behind a veteran like McNabb with tons of experience

giving up Aso will hurt our defense... and you can say we need a CB like Aso for our defense to work, but he's likely gonna be gone in a couple years, and we'll have to adjust to him being gone... why not make the adjustment now?

this deal makes perfect sense... how does it not?

I would not want to lose Nnamdi, but McNabb would be a huge impact on the team....hell I think we should go for any of those eagles qbs and it'd be a big upgrade...but if we do give up Nnamdi it has to be a great trade for our team

Giving up Aso for Samuel makes no sense cuz Samuel doesnt really fit the defensive scheme....and even tho Nnamdi's contract expires theres a slight chance that if we give up our 2 & 4 this year for McNabb and draft a young QB we could very possibly be a contender by then and be grooming a QB behind McNabb....You can't say he's gone in two years cuz no one knows.....but i do know one thing if we weaken the defense by losing Aso and we can't stop anyone a trade for McNabb turns sour cuz he only has one year left on his current contract....and he will leave

dont know if they would go for that or not but thats the maximum that would give up for a 33 yr old QB.... plus they want a top 42 picc and the 4th Rd picc would just be to sweeten the deal a lil bit....plus its a high 4th RD picc....I really wouldn't give up anything more than that for McNabb who is still a great QB but his career is coming to a close......
