Yeah, I went to one of those in '04 against Detroit.

They have stuff goin' on during the breaks as well like the Laker Girls dancing and former players mingling with the crowd or what not. Definitely a fun time but obviously nothing compared to an actual game. I might go to Game 6 or 7 if it makes it that far, though.

lmao @ Jerry West owning boston's owner

You don't even have to have been part of it. As the Celtics celebrated their East championship Friday, co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, a recent arrival, laid claim to Auerbach's mantle, not to mention Red's hubris, crowing:

"And we're 8-2!"

This is now known as the Shot Fired 'Round Lakerdom.

"I saw the owner of the Celtics say we're 8-2," said West, once almost as much an icon in Boston as here.

"He was also the same owner who saw his franchise go after the ping pong balls for like 2 decades, right?"

he fucking guarded chauncy and did a helleva job in almost all the games.
now you're just riding the guy's dick. The only thing that held Billups back was his 80 percent hamstring, but during the last 2 games I dont think it made a difference.

Guarding a guy and letting him score 25+ points isn't a 'helleva job'.

Rondo is a jagged puzzle piece with little confidence and no clutch skills in the big puzzle known as the Boston Celtics.

I've seen some impressive plays out of him, and some "are you a god damned fool?!" plays. Maybe in one or two more seasons he can be a tight PG and learn some leadership, but not now.

I really dont know which way to sway with this one. Lakers are a great team and so are the Celtics. There are two key players the camera will be on:

1) Kobe Bryant

2) Kevin Garnett

These two players will not matter (as much as you think.)

This series being 'decided' by either Kobe or KG is unlikely in my mind.

These cats will come with it. It's all about these guys supporting cast, which in the Playoffs definitely favors L.A.

Boston obviously has their downfall with Rondo and Perkins, who sometimes make noise and other times go to sleep.

The match-ups are going to be good to watch. Pierce and Bryant should be interesting on both ends of the floor. I don't see Gasol getting any 30 point game over KG though.

My gut tells me the Lakers will take it in 6, but I can't run with that number.

My gut also told me the Pistons would put an end to the bumpy road that is the Celtics Playoff run.

Ideally I'd like to see Boston take it in 7 because of strange circumstance, but I think that might trigger the apocalypse.

I'm not really biased on this one, but I wont miss a game.

well i'm just sayin he can guard fisher thats all. he is pretty clutch though cause i've seen him hit 3 big shots in playoff games to put the opponent out of it so that aint that bad. he just needs to trust his shot more, he puts ppl in bad situations with 3 secs alot cause he doesnt trust it. once he gets that down he's straight but as of right now he's just an impressive 2nd year player

havent been up to speed so here we go lol
Hmmm....Breaking news: The Los Angeles Lakers aquired Pau Gasol from the Mephis Grizzlies...Did you miss that? You think that might make a difference against the Lakers this time around? Just a little...Ask anyone who's playing the best ball around and see what answer you get...How can you not fucking see that? I'm thinking the Lakers would have had the best record in the L if they had Gasol all year long, but who really knows.
very very true but they had bynum who was playin better then than gasol did this season, and bynum wasnt "soft"

Got the Lakers winning it in 6, mostly because of
Phil Jackson > > > Doc cant coach for shit rivers
thats the only thing that scares me besides 24

we have the best player in the game and the best coach in the game.
and whoever said boston's bench is better...gtfoh
our offense > your defense
u guys got the coaching. i think the bench is pretty close so i say tie and i dont get ur third thing. i can easily say our offense>you're defense right? how bout you're offense > our offense and our defense > you're defense and leave it at that.
LOL @ niggas thinking this gonna be a series.
Kobe ain't gonna let scrubs like Paul Pierce and Ray Allen get in the way of his destiny. The boy is focused.
Lakers in 6.
i'm just hoping this was a joke.

This is the playoffs, the regular season is a different story.

case in point 1) Bos had the best road record in the NBA during the regular season, but how about their road record in the playoffs.

case in point 2) Bos owned Atlanta 3 out of 3 times during the regular season, then went to a game 7 in the first round.

Playoff are a different story, we're a different team then the last time they saw us.
yeah but u can also say that we have come a long way since the hawks playoff series as well. the hawks went to 7 cause the youngens didnt understand playoffs on the road yet and with the cavs every game was close so that woulda went 7 regardless. but when we put the pistons down winning 2 of the games on there court and one we just smashed em in was very very impressive. i didnt even think we could win on the road in the palace but we managed and one game was a blowout and the other just showed the clutch in alot of our guys. now both teams are very capable of winning it this year and both team match up pretty well. i expect a good series and no matter the outcome imma happy motherfucker but i will be alot happier if we win so cant wait till thursday:cool:

^^^ Bynum was a work in progress at that time and still is. Gasol has some years under his belt. I wouldn't compare them like that.

your defense isn't enough to stop our offense, which is what it's gonna take for you to win.

and your offense hasn't been good enough or consistent enough.

Ronnie Turiaf, Jordan Farmar, Sasho, Luke are light years ahead of the celtic bench. All you guys have is Posey (an underachieving starter), Powe who barely got playing time this year because of an injury to KG, hes more like just another 6 fouls and Cassel has been a non factor this playoffs PJ is cool.

Our bench has gotten us back in games against teams like the Spurs and Jazz.

i compared them by one year, it wasnt like i was saying who's better overall i was just stating that bynum was balling better than gasol was thats all.

PG: Fisher v Rondo - Advantage Lakers

PG: Fisher vs Rondo - Tied
SG: Bryant vs Allen - Bryant easily
SF: Radmanovic vs Pierce - Pierce easily
PF: Odem vs Garnett - Garnett
CR: Gasol vs Perkins - Gasol
LA Bench vs Bos Bench - Tied
Jackson vs Rivers - Jackson easily
LA X-Factor - Coaching, theres really no other coach like phil jackson
Bos X-Factor - Defense & Size, this is going to be hell for the lakers on offense and defense.

thats how i see it which to me seems like a pretty good matchup unless Doc really goes nutty and fucks everything for us which he is capable of doing

yeah but Posey has stepped it up a notch and a half as did PJ in the playoffs and got BIG wins for us. Glen and Powe can be used real well in this series for the size mismatching when ur bench is in which can lead for more 2nd chance shots and rebs for the celts. Cassell hasnt done shit but ya never know with him. and House has yet to get quality minutes but when he's in there he's lights out and a good defender.
