Okay, it's being hyped so much because it's going to be such a close battle. Theirs a lot to be excited about as a sports fan, I won't get in to it but if you're not looking forward to this then you're not a basketball fan. This shit's going to be off the hook.

see I don't watch enough sports tv to know how much they're hyping this up. I watch Sportscenter, but thats about it.

I would agree they have no recent rivalry, but disagree if someone were to say there's no franchise rivalry.

yeah it's just all the middle aged sports reporters in the media remembering lakers/celtics from when they were young and trying to relive that through this series. lakers/celtics will always be a rivalry but right now it isn't anywhere near the level of intensity it was 20, 30, 40 years ago.

and the fact that last year's finals was terrible doesn't help much either since this series should actually be close and entertaining.

whatever though, i just cant wait for 6:00 tomorrow...seems like it's been taking forever to get here

overhype? they have no real rivalry now but these 2 franchises hold half the titles in the NBA and both are the best franchises in the NBA and most likely always will be. and they played 10 times in the big dance in the past. and they are both the #1 seeds coming in with possibly 5 future hall-of-famers. that aint overhype at all.

^^^ lol i know the history, thizz agreed with me. If i didnt know any better i would of thought David Stern had something to do with the Lakers getting Gasol and the Celtics getting Allen and Garnett just so these 2 "great franchises" would be back on top

see i agree with you with there being no new rivalry there yet but history speaks for it's self and the only way for these guys to ever keep the rivalry is meeting up in the finals and thats why it's been dead for years now. i agree they dont hate each other but i disagree that it's overhyped. i think there putting as much hype as they should into this. the only thing i think deserves more hype in the NBA is if MJ was to return and be in the finals but thats it and thats asking ALOT.

Probably shouldn't go off subject...but I'm seeing...2 Hall Of Famers, if Garnet gets a ring, that is. Kobe's a lock, but unless you're talking about Phil Jackson, Jerry Buss, and someone else...LOL, I don't know what you're talking about.
