Kermit is just looking for a fight with anyone 1st Berto now K-9. Kermit needs to actually win a fight before calling out a champion. Kermit does have a point but he's the wrong person to be talk after jumping out of the ring like a frog. He needs to shut the hell up and fight his way to the top again.

Kermit has been in much bigger fights than K9. It's not like kermit is calling out some big time star here, he's calling out K9 who besides the more hardcore of fans no one knows.

Kermit is also ranked #2 at LMW. K9 is ranked #10.

I don't care where Kermit is ranked he jumped out the ring the last time I saw him fight. He does not deserve a big fight. Why reward that quiter with a title fight for jumping out the ring because he didn't want to get beat up by Paul Williams.

a fight with K9 is not a big fight. It's an undercard fight.

I don't know why you're having a problem with this Kermit will be on the undercard no matter what to Cotto-margarito, might as well have it a good fight.

Sure he had some weird freak blunder against Williams (but don't act like he was getting his ass beat, I actually had him winning and he buckled Williams legs just prior). His resume is still better than anyone at 154. He fought Sergio Martinez, Margarito twice, Angulo, Williams, N'dou and Matthysse. His fights are almost always entertaining win lose or draw.

Kermit has some skills, he's just a major fag. I like watching him get beat up but he also seems like a good dude so I hope he gets himself some big fights. No reason why he can't beat K9. He's way bigger and pretty strong. That's a good matchup.

Hopefully after that he fights Angulo again or Kirkland though lol

Looks like this fight isn't happening in July.

Top Rank pulled its request for July 16 at the MGM. The date was proposed for a Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito rematch, but Margarito is reportedly still healing from the beating he received from Pacquiao on Nov. 13 and might not be cleared to train for a mid-July fight.​

I don't know if that means the date will be pushed to a later date (maybe early August), or if Cotto will have to fight someone else for the time being and fight margarito at the end of the year.

Not sure if it's 8oz gloves. Technically all fights over 147 are supposed to be 10oz, but there have been exceptions in the past one of them was pac-margarito (but that was a catchweight of 150) so I don't know.

I agree it's stupid this fight is in vegas.

I would have preferred Cotto to fight Cintron (who just signed with top rank today) and that would have been for The Ring belt since Cotto is #1 and Cintron is #2. Then the winner (likely cotto) could fight margarito in November/December.

it's different from state to state from what I understand. I wanna say it's 10oz for 147+ in jersey or new york or somethin like that, but not Vegas. But I think it can be negotiated too.

For the most part state law is the same on this which is 147 and everything below is 8oz and above is 10oz. The only time the state changes this is that it has to be negotiated and agreed upon by both parties and whatever state commission it is has to approve to glove size change .. which they usually do is both fighters agree to it, and probably take into consideration what weight they fight at.
