I just like talking about boxing with some people that know what they're talking about. I might not agree with everyones opinion and I might start net-banging, but it's all in good fun.
Naner12- My blind hate for Cotto is telling me that Maragarito is going to KO him again. Cotto is a nice guy and good fighter but I just hate him like I hate Traver's black ass.

Cotto's naturally smaller, less talented brother had Canelo drunk dancing across the ring when they fought. I can't see Miguel not be able to accomplish the same with far worse results for Canelo. That's no gimme fight for Canelo.

I'm talking about if they fight right now not maybe in the future. Canelo still gets hit a lot, he's still young, and still learning. Cotto's brother was a career lightweight and wobbled him up, a year ago isn't very long in boxing terms homie. Canelo's style as it stands right is going to get him hit and he hasn't fought anyone close to the skill level of Miguel. It's no wash.

Canelo wouldn't stand a chance against Cotto.
The thing I like about him is that he knows these things and admits that he isn't ready for high caliber opponents. No shame in his game.

Actually it kinda is. Ask Roy Jones Jr. or Israel Vasquez. Someone can improve a lot in a year too. He does still get hit a lot but he knows he can take those guys punches. You'd be a fool to think that Saul would just walk in with his hands down against Cotto and he'd be a fool if he fought that way. He has some boxing skill whether he shows it all the time or not. With some minor tweaks in his game, I think he would be ready for Cotto in a year or less.

i think cotto will avoid the KO in the rematch. whether it was because of anything illegal last time, we'll never know. i think margarito will press the action, & his chin will withstand anything cotto has, just like before. i think his aggressive fighting & volume punching will edge out cotto's strategic & disciplined style of fighting in the judges eyes. because i think that is how cotto will play it this time around.. despite margarito's win in the 1st fight, i see this as being an upset.

EDIT: but then again, what do i know about boxing?

Kermit Cintron is calling out K9 who is a title holder at 154. That would be a very solid fight on the undercard.

Another option could be Kermit vs Lara (the hot cuban prospect, 15-0). That would be another dope fight (provided Lara wins his fight this friday on ESPN).

Kermit has no right to call anyone out after jumping out of the ring. But K-9 vs Kermit would be a good fight.

Kermit had a point though and makes sense. Recently K9 has been calling out Pacquiao, Mayweather and Martinez and Kermit said along the lines of, "come on K9, be realistic...you're not getting those types of fights with your win over a faded Cory Spinks, you're going to have to do a lot more than just that. Why don't we fight?"

Kermit is just looking for a fight with anyone 1st Berto now K-9. Kermit needs to actually win a fight before calling out a champion. Kermit does have a point but he's the wrong person to be talk after jumping out of the ring like a frog. He needs to shut the hell up and fight his way to the top again.
