I could give two shits about sports but Kobe is a role model and he has thus far always "done the right thing" and set a good example for kids (seemingly). It's just unfortunate to me that he had to go and let his fans down. Whether we like it or not, kids LOVE Kobe and want to be like him. He is talented and eloquent and we would not expect this kind of behavior from him...it really doesn't fit his character. Yes, he is human and we all make mistakes, but I think kids can only deal with so many disappointments.

These same cats talk about how much they aint a hater and all that, but reading thru these boards I have seen a few who put in an excessive amount of time and effort talking bad on him. Muthafuckas wishing he get time and all that, thats punk shit. Just cause he may be in the way of your favorite team getting a ring, does that mean you have to wish bad shit on him? That is you buying into the media's advertising machince. Take off those rose colored glasses and look at the real world.

No, I don't believe Kobe to be perfect or believe in everything the media feeds me. I am the media. I'm a radio dj. My point is that white people like to condemn and villify Black men and it was nice for a change to see mass media embrace a Black figure instead of constantly downing one.
Even kids with the best parents are not necessarily equipped to deal with these types of issues at a young age. 7-year-old Micheal will probably not be able to understand the issues of adultery, rape, the court system, etc., etc, etc. even if it is broken down into layman's (sp?) terms.
