It was worth it though just to see Floyd fight more offensively, which we don't see much these days anymore, not in like ten years or so.

But I do give Conor some credit, he didn't make a fool of himself I don't think (I mean he's getting paid hella money so it wouldn't matter even if he did), definitely didn't show he deserved to be in the same ring with Floyd, or even a guy like Canelo who would seriously hurt him, but I bet this isn't the last we so of him in Boxing, maybe fight Paulie because of the background, that might sell well and a fight he could win.

The people I'm watching with were like "Conor is easily winning this, clearly up 6 rounds to none". I just laughed and said "wait"

Conor did way better than expected. He looked solid in the first 6 rounds, even though I knew it didn't mean much at the time. I wish he would have hired a real boxing coach instead of just getting trained for this by his MMA trainer John Kavanaugh, Conor might have looked even better.

McGregor had the biggest reach advantage Floyd ever faced. Floyd had to just let McGregor tire himself out. Good showing got both really

Does anyone feel the ref stopped the fight too early?
Not really because Conor was done. From an entertainment perspective sure I'd love to see the final couple shots put him down, but the refs most important job, above everything else, is to protect the fighters. Often times from themselves. Conor may not like but Boxing has had far too many tragedies to simply allow someone to potentially get seriously hurt just because they have pride. Numerous boxers die every year in the ring and we've had several boxers go brain dead or put into a vegetative state in the last several years on TV, no ref wants to be the guy who let's that happen.

Conor was saying in MMA refs let it go further, which is true, but they have small gloves and guys usually go down quick, and not take 10+ round prolonged beatings, so it's probably safer in MMA just on that alone. I think he should be happy the ref stopped it when he did otherwise he would have been KOd for real, sometimes it's just embarrassing nothing more, some memes go around people laugh life goes on, but you really never know what can happen with a guy. Conor wasn't defending himself against the ropes and he was stumbling all over the place prior, so it was the right stoppage, no need to have more punishment. But it would have been better for us fans for sure.
