I guess landing 9 punches and having you right eye almost closed was getting warmed up. lol Just by some peoples comments you can tell who really knows boxing. RM211 please rewatch the fight fam. Ortiz was never in the fight and never landed anything hard.

He was walking down Floyds punches? For the majority of the fight he was moving backwards and away not to mention that he was breathing from his mouth very early on and had already started to swell...but....according to you...he wasn't hurt.

i get it homie ur floyds number fan, im just saying wut i saw in the ring...
How am I Floyds number one fan when I said I wanted Ortiz to beat him because Floyd disrespected his own father? LMAO! I was Ortiz all the way up until he pulled that headbutt shit. When that happened, I said "Let him be humbled in the next fight. FUCK THAT NIGGA UP FLOYD!"

Fuck Mayweather and his cheap shots. He seen Cortez wasn't paying attention and he took full advantage of the situation....legally? Yeah. Due to Cortez's incompetence as a referee his I'm firm but I'm fair bullshit flew out the window that night. Dude acted like he didn't know wtf was going on in that situation at all. That article with the unknown referee a page or two back was spot on.

Ortiz never should have threw that headbutt in the first place and in the unfortunate events that followed can be seen as karma I guess. I just don't see it that way, Ortiz officially paid for it with the point deduction and showed his remorse by apologizing right afterward as he knew he fucked up. That still didn't give Floyd the right to take advantage of him like he did though imo.....In the end though, as much as it pains me to say this....In combat of any sort, you must protect yourself at all times and Ortiz did not do this. He put to much faith into the referee and he paid for it.

All Floyd did was damage an already damaged character that night and did nothing to sway the public's dislike for him as a person either. As bad ass as he is in the ring, he will never get the recognition he so desperately seeks from the mob aka the people when it comes to his legacy as a fighter.

There are more people wanting him to lose then wanting him to win in this world. Call it hating all you want but its the truth. He brought this on himself.

Hell yes most people watch Floyd fights to see him get knocked out. That's why it's so funny, when he just keeps on winning. The same fans that hate him are the same fans buying the PPV to watch him lose... The money is still going in Mayweather pocket either way.

Most people I know stream the fights these days lol. I don't really care if he loses or wins, I just want to see him fight Pac.

for the record talking about ppv ratings...ppl paying to watch floyd lose is a relatively new thing. he brags about how he's mr ppv, the cash cow, and how the sport is dead without him etc. but lets not forget the ppv numbers before he fought de la hoya.

before their super fight together:

de la hoya vs mayorga = 875,000 ppv buys and $43.8 million in ppv revenue

mayweather vs baldomir?? = 325,000 ppv buys and $16.8 million in ppv revenue

lol! kind of a big difference huh?

and mayweather has the audacity to say the ppv numbers from that big fight were cause of him. de la hoya catapulted that motherfuckers career (not boxing wise, but MONEY wise, which is what he's all about) but he will never admit to it. the masses did not give a fuck to pay for his fights for like the first 90% of his career.

if dlh decided to dodge him cause he was afraid of getting an L the way floyd seems to dodge some cats (and if it weren't for 24/7)... theres a chance mayweather would still just be a great boxer but not nearly as rich. and not nearly as many ppl would hate him or jock him as hard as they do now.

to floyds credit, his wwf style "money may" heel persona he's created for the media has been huge too

You hit the nail on the head when he was Pretty Boy Floyd knocking people out no one cared. But once he turned into the asshole the money came rolling in. But none of it changes the fact that dude is the best boxer today..

LOL, now you're changing fighters. A couple of posts ago it was two other guys now it's Calzaghe or Ottke.
They are undefeated as well. Never really fought top competition until the opponent was on the way out. At least Calzaghe stepped up and took on Lacy. Remember he also beat Hopkins, who is a great. Schooled RJJ at his own style. Joe Calzaghe gets no credit as well.

General media? The same people who won't give the guy a fair shake?
Yes, the general media. Who else is supposed to recognize him? Boxing writers? Hardcore boxing fans? It's the general media that makes fighters who they are. DLH has more claim to fame. Duran will be placed above as well. I'm naming different boxers because people swear Floyd will be placed as some all time great. Mike Tyson will outshine Floyd in 50 years.

Am I a Floyd fan? No, I am a fan of the sport but the guy gets my respect for what he does in the ring, and to be honest, I only see like a couple of WW in the history of boxing beating him.
I'm a huge fan of Floyd's boxing skills. I think he is great in the ring. I just believe it's his lack of risk, obsession over money, and being a total asshole outside of the ring that will prevent his legacy from being worth anything.

The man will go down in the books and Hopkins, a fighter who I have a lot of respect for (as a man also) will go down as one of the greats.
Here is the difference though.
Hopkins has lost, and can continue to lose. It won't matter.
If Manny gives Floyd a beat down. Then what? The media and probably the entire world will label him as exposed, for getting schooled when he finally fought another top caliber opponent in his prime. Then what happens to his legacy? It's shot.

Then on the flip side, Manny can lose, and he will still be known as one of the best. That's just how it is. It's the general media. Not my personal opinion or yours.

Yeah good call! Floyd's new style is all bad for Pacquiao... Pacquiao is used to being the aggressor (sp), hopefully they fight soon.
Pacquiao has had some flashes of brilliance going backwards but for the most part, he's like any other fighter and doesn't like being backed up or when fighters throw combinations. That's why Pac dominates because he'll rattle off a 5 punch combo from every angle and people don't even try and throw back with the exception of Marquez and Morales who happened to have great success against Pac.

No. The last time I watched a Floyd Mayweather PPV fight was when he fought DeLaHoya....

Exactly.

Floyd will never be DeLaHoya when it comes to PPV numbers. Never.

Get it out of your head .....Floyd is a great Technically sound defensive beast of a boxer.......but he ain't pullin the numbers like you all think.

LOL
