this is actually a good post from a guy that's in rios' camp about why it's actually smart to look into outside investors
someone actually broke down how much each could get in a traditional PPV method and essentially showed us how there isn't enough money to meet the demands both would want for fighting each other
say both want 50 million each
okay
say $70 a pop at a record 2.5 million PPV buys that's $175 million
now they told me standard for a satellite and cable companies is to take 57% of that revenue or $99.75 million
that leaves 43% or $75.25 million
now say that this fight breaks all records in terms of gate which is $19 million for DLH Mayweather. Let's say $30 million even though I think that would be too high

now take into account promoter cuts, undercard, PR etc and there is no way both guys can feasibly get 50 million each

Interesting, being that bob arum said he wanted a fourth marquez fight and pacquiao said no he wants floyd and now arum is working on making a floyd fight.
Not everyone does what arum wants. Cotto told arum he would pull out of the margarito fight if it wasn't in New York and arum couldn't do anything about it (wouldn't doubt he paid of the doctors).
