I didn't like this album at all, I thought it was completely overrated. You think he would salvage his best work for himself, the artists he works with get the best of him IMO.

To me he's a behind the scenes cat who came out and was obviously successful, but should of just stayed behind the scenes, lmao.
the only feature that got the best of him is consequence i think, hearing this album made me cop consequences album, consequence is sick, anyways, whoever made this review, i couldnt disagree with you more, this is the best realese of the year, easy, shits sick, be more open minded

I dont expect you to understand. There are certain mc's that are good and certain that are not. Mainstream Iam bumping Killa Cam and Juelz. But Kanye doesnt even sound tight. My opinion. Think what you want about me, but keep it at that just a thought.

@-T-spoon- Yeah Iam back in here again, but you already know.

No doubt...no harm, no foul. Just opinions. I don't like Kanye's rapping half as much as I dig his production.

take for example his hooks - that's no fuckin rap music, they are more suitable for children songs, not for rap songs; I don't feel like I am listening to rap music when I listen to him

track by track - why this album and Kanye West suck

1. Wake Up Mr. West - just an intro

2. Heard 'Em Say - the beat for this one wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the damn anoying piano; how could you combine g-funk sound with a piano; and once the hook starts I really have to skip it; the flows are nothing memorable - slow and boring

3. Touch the Sky - I can't remember how many times I have heard a similar beat to this; nothing special, nothing new, just some weak eastcoast shit

4. Gold Digger - first track I can get into; when it's good I have to admit it; maybe the only track I listen to in this album

5. Skit 1

6. Drive Slow - why the fuck did he sampled "Shorty wannabe a thug"??!! Be original man, if you are such a great producer, you don't need to have a beat that 2pac used on your album; the song is not that bad, but it pales compared to the original,

7. My Way Home - again the raps are weak, the beat is good, but this man just can't rap; and he put too much singing on it once again; listenable track though

8. Crack Music - la-lal-la-la, it's so corny; it could have been tight if it wasn't for the got damn annoying hook; nothing special form Kanye himself again; this man just ruins his tracks with these hooks

9. Roses - uuhh? is this a rap record or spoken word??

10. Bring Me Down - weeeak; weak beat, soft r&b hooks and singing, weak rapping, bullshit track

11. Addiction - this beat has nothing to do on a hip-hop record; get this shit out of here; Kanye is talking about some bullshit again; some annoying singing in the background doesn't help either

12. Skit 2

13. Diamonds from Sierra Leone (Remix) - all the people who like this song need to seriously think if they are hip-hop fans or they better switch to opera, music from the 50s or some other fucked up bullshit; I won't say anything more

14. We major - this has no beat for me, plus it has some guy named Kanye West who is thinking he's rappin on it

15. Skit 3

16. Hey mama - everytime I see a track title like this I know it is going to be some bullshit; la-la-la-la-la; how can this be called hip-hop or rap??? is everybody lost their mind???

17. Celebration - I want rap music!!!!! no gospel-children-r&b-whatever else bullshit; get this muthafukka out of here

18. skit 4

19. Gone - if a beat simple as this one is a creation of one of the best producers of our time, hip-hop is in serious trouble; I won't comment his rapping skills, you know he has no skills on the mic

20. Diamonds from Sierra Leone - fuck this track

21. Late - I am asking myself once again - is this really a rap record; who let this guy pollute rap musci with his children songs???

you got it comletely wrong, I am not opposed to his topics, well, he could have come a lil bit harder, but what really annnoys me is his music - these samples just dont fit the definition of a rap beat, and what is worse is that a lot of artists started copying them, just because people buy Kanye's West, people who otherwise have a really poor understanding of what rap music is all about, but form the majority of the audience buying records

I don't need a murda-murda kill-kill topics to like an artists, I still isten to a lot of eastcoast rap form the beginning of the 90s (which is obviously not baller-thug-killa shit); but I prefer listening to Evil Pimp twisting about pornographic sex and violence over some evil beat or Criminal Manne spitting some balla-thug-big rimz shit over some DJ Squeeky production; I don't want to listen to tracks sampled form children songs and opera, THIS IS NOT RAP MUSIC

^ this is how rap started, how can u say this isnt the definition of rap beats, they started by sampling soft rock, and random other genres of music man, and it all started with these "soft" topics and shit, if anything this is how hip hop started in a way, just modernized

tha BEAUTIFUL thing about rap music is, it is limitless. meaning: u can take a guitar riff from a country song, sample it, add some kicc and snares, and make a tight ass RAP beat. u can take a bird chirping, and make a beat from it, u can take an opera singer singin, sample a piece and make a tight beat from it. THERE IS NO DEFINITION FOR A RAP BEAT. TRUE PRODUCERS respect kanye, they might not like him, but they do respect him. fold.

you can sample whatever you want, but it has to SOUND HIP-HOP, to have that hip-hop feel; Kanye's beats don't
i'm having trouble understanding what a "hip hop sound" sounds like. ricc rocc beat? brotha lynch hung beat? juicy juice beat? jazzy phae beat? dj premier beat? wut constitutes a hip hop sound? fold.

what makes you have the ability to define what hip hop is, this shit sounds old school to me, this is how it started
