he cant be a bust yet he hasnt even played a game lol but i dont know if kiffin sees that he is getting better by mid season fuck it they should try him out
I dont think he is a bust. You said that Alex Smith is a bust because he was the number one overall pick and wasnt ready to start right away (what 21 year old is ready?) but yet you dont apply that to J Russell. You the contradiction here?

lmao i didnt say that i said any qb should be ready to play right away just look at the qb the bucs used last season fool got drafted in the 7th round and had to play the rest of the season cuz of an injury sims had

the reason why i called alex smith a bust is because he is not meeting expectations for a 1st round pick in his third year

so no there was no contradiction u just read it a lil wrong

They crowd the line of scrimmage to stop the run because they don't respect Alex Smith's passing ability. So Gore won't get 2,000 yards until Smith can learn to beat teams with his arm.

Hands down Smith will be weak!! 2ndly Russell will be a star mark my words!! 3rdly Russell was good in college fool!! Do yall watch college!! Sometimes college is all about hype!! Russell was dope at LSU and shitted on Quinn in their bcs bowl game!! QB's arent drafted outta collge based on there stats in college fully!! look at Jason White of Oklahome who was a stud college qb but wasnt even drafted or drafted hella late better never made it!! Yall need to get knowledge of the game. Russell has superstardom written all over him!! I dont like Quinn either!! Well see in due time but yall will see what im sayin!! Got Em!!

How can you compare the Browns? Butch Davis fucked them up.

'99 - Tim Couch QB #1 Pick
'00 - Courtney Brown DE #1 Pick
'01 - Gerrard Brown DT #3 Pick
'02 - William Brown RB #16 Pick
'03 - Jeff Faine C #21 Pick
Some of your info is wrong...but I definitely won’t argue that Butch fucked them up…but my point is…excuses only last for so long.

Excuses for Couch (I made them too) were expansion team, no O-Line, no RB, no good receivers…new coach…changing offensive coordinators. And they are all good reasons why a QB will not succeed. But when you go in the first round…especially being the No. 1 pick…you expect more. And when you don’t see those results…you finally begin to see the flaws that your homer-glasses were blinding you from.

Couch was a good QB…even took the Browns to the playoffs…but he wasn’t consistant. He flat out didn’t have what it takes.

Smith is in a very similar situation…this is the year that people are expecting big things from him. So far, he hasn’t shown much. But it’s early…we’ll see what happens.

I will say Gimpy is one of the realest cats on this board. Not just because of this post but other posts as well. He keeps it real...

How can he apply the samething to JaMarcus Russell when JaMarcus wasn't even signed until week 2 of the regular season?

Alex Smith was signed right after he was drafted. He played in pre-season and couldn't even beat out Rattay. LOL

KOOL_AID is just saying when you're drafted number 1 overall you gotta be ready to contribute right away (assuming you got your contract situation out of the way)

This is Alex Smith's 3rd year and so far he's not looking like he was picked number one overall.

Eli Manning, Carson Palmer, Jay Cutler, even Vince Young are all playing better than Smith right now.

2005 was a very bad year to Draft QB's. Probably 1 of the worst in the past 10ish years, Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers the Top 2 overall QB's in the draft... I'll agree they should have took Braylon and took Leinart next year I'm not sure if they would of had a high enough pick to take Young.

I thought the Niners should have taken Merriman since it was Mike Nolan's first year (correct me if I am wrong) as head coach and he was in the process of installing his version of the 3-4 defense.
