instead of thinkin it jesus as a man sayin it, imagine that God said it and it will make more sense.
although you are right about it being worded differently than everythin else i have come across.
LOL @ GTS my brother read my sig. God blinds these mens with their own delusions and understanding, carnal wisdom, understanding and prudence has made such a simple concept go over their heads. LOL, These men are not heirs of the Kingdom of God neither are they called to the supper nor the marriage to come. Pray for them GTS, if you are a Christian, assuming you are.
as for the question, I believe in an afterlife. Fully Flesh and Fully Spirit.
i believe the cycle of energy, but i think consciousness will be non-exsistent
it doesnt make sense that it would because our perception of consciousness requires our functioning brain
but you do know the brain is physical and not consciousness.
so maybe the brain is needed to contain us in this physical stage of reality?
tell me what is energy made up of, and whats the smallest thing that makes up everything? does everything include this consciousness?
what is consciousness? what about the subconscious?
i don't go to church or follow any religon but I do believe there is either GOD or something else that we don't know of out there. Yes religon is used to brainwash people no doubt but my belief comes from unexplained experiences, wether it is gods work or something else or a dead person or w/e I got no idea.
so to answer the topic, I got no idea what happens after you die, I just hope it's not some evil shit.

Does anyone believe that when you die, you just cease to exist? For instance, No Hell, Heaven, Purgatory, ability to haunt, or to roam the earth as a ghost. Just plain old becoming worm and fly food. I have been thinking about death alot lately and if this is true, people are just throwing away what little time they have to experience life. Just a thought but what's yall's take on this?
The answer to your first question is, yes. There are people who believe that when you die, you just cease to exist.
My take on this is that these people want (emotional desire) to define reality in terms of their sense-gratification. By asserting that the consciousness only exists as a simulation of the physical brain, it creates a view of reality that does not contradict their desire to enjoy the senses and have potential lordship over all existence. Many of them also believe that, through technological advancement, they will be able to live forever in the future.
What about the people who are willing to think they will live forever beyond death contrary to all evidence? You don't mention anything about them and their motivation...

This is the Christian view. They believe in a soul, to some vague degree, but they believe that after death it goes into some hibernation mode where it is completely unconscious and then at some point in time, God resurrects all the dead and judges them.
Yeah. The "no spirit" part was a bit confusing. I think he just means to say that you are not conscious in any respect for the period after death until resurrection. In this way, he thinks the "spirit" (or perhaps, soul) flickers out and back into existence when consciousness is lost. This is a peculiar argument. I do not remember many times while I am asleep. So far as I know, I had no consciousness at those times. But I certainly do not believe that I flickered out of existence.
im actually staying open minded to the idea of a separate conscience when your asleep, im not quite sure though, kinda off topic, but you made me think of this theory
