Why, is it, that whenever I come to an agreement with Heresy, it's always considered cheerleading? I honestly don't care about my image on here, but what leads you to believe I cheerlead for him?
I don't think you realize that you could do all the explaining necessary over and over again, but people are still going to see you as his cheerleader. As I've stated before, even you were aware of this, as your custom user title used to say "not Heresy's disciple" or something like that.

I agree. This board is full of cunts. Theist and otherwise and I think I am about ready to get back into the swing of things in the GOM [and i know i keep saying that, but i have been more of a precense these last few days] only this time I'm gonna be less merciful to those that cross the line.

atheists are concerned about religion because of the following reasons:
1. an ecological catastrophe is coming and we're not going to do anything about it because we either think that's God's will or we're too busy fighting each other over some religious bullshit; as resources become scarcer and scarcer with the advance of the catastrophe, competition over resources between cultures and countries will inevitably lead to war and it will be a serious conflict, not like anything seen before; the war in Iraq, 9/11, what hapened in Lebanon last summer, the crisis in Darfur and others are just the begining
the problem is that it is the conflicts between religions that exist for centuries that will drive the war, although it is the competition over resources that will spark it
if people are not so obsessed with what their God tells them, they might sit down and think of solutions of the problems, which, unfortuantely, will never happen

2. what the church and the imams preach is simply inadequate in today's world - do not use condoms, ban abortions, no birth control - all this kind of ridiculous stuff that is only doing harm and rests on some 2000-years old texts
3. the mission of science is to reveal the truth about the world and share it with the rest of the world; we cannot let the world live in a lie, especially such a fundametal one; what is and what you want are not necessarily the same
4. we're not starting the war, we're defending ourselves and the only way to efficinetly do it is to completely destroy the other side becasue if we don't, it will destroy us
historically, most scientists have been in general indifferent toward religion, because science and religion didn't deal with the same thing
as science advanced though, it answered more and more of the questions that were previously answered by religion and the answers science gave were not the same
so religion, with all its power, started a war on science
during the Middle Ages science was dead in Europe but well and alive in the Middle East; it was not until the late 19th/early 20th century when it was decided that modern science will ruin Islam so it must not be allowed to develop in muslim countries

are we supposed to stay silent and let humanity destroy itself because of some fairy tales?
