theres a small percentage that you can die.. they teach you in the academy and in other classes how to prevent serious injury or even death.. here you mostly respond to accidents. Wildland Firefighting is more dangerous than shit. More firefighters die in wildland fires than in structural fires. But if youre insterested in becoming a firefighter, theres like 3-4 academies in the area, theres san mateo co. fire academy in san bruno i think, then theres CSM fire academy, santa clara or san jose, then theres chabbot college academy. And i think Oakland has one too.
