the base pay alone, NO overtime for redwood city is between 75-85k...sheriffs department makes more than that and has UNLIMITED overtime...the ride along i went on with the sheriffs department told me one guy was basically there all day the days he worked and made over 200k...

No sir lol, I'm just curious. I doubt I could be a cop even if i wanted to because i have a recient DUI I heard you have to wait 3 years before you can be eligible after one of those. The money is tempting though being a cop doesn't seem all that hard for that kind of cash.

a lot of people get hired during the academy...some go in hired but its rare, mostly happens if you know somebody...and if you go in hired, you get a little more than half of the normal departments salary while you are in the academy...most people get hired during but it takes a while to sign all the paper work and get on payroll so you end up graduating before you start to get paid...my friend graduates in a few days from it and of his class of 50 i think 46 got jobs...

how long is it? It the shit like boot camp or are you just learning laws and shit or a little of both? Not everyone has to go through the adedemy though huh?, whats the deal with that
