Devon Alexander has only beat one true welterweight in Randall Bailey. He beat Maidana at 147 too but Maidana was not ranked at welterweight that's why he's lower on the list.

I agree with kell brook being to high though.
When was the last time Manny fought a top 5 147lber Cotto in 2009. Bradley moved up from 140, Marquez moved up from 135, and Rios is moving up from 140lb. Manny hasn't fought another champion at 147lb since Cotto in 2009. Manny ranked above Devon who beat a IBF champion last year should be ranked higher then Manny fighting guys moving up for the last 2 years.

^^^With these rankings being what they are you think Floyd is gonna fight any of them? No. So even then these rankings are more meaningless now. Floyd says he wants to fix boxing yet he signed a contract with a rivaling network and does business with a rivaling promotion and has officially made it clear that he will not fight the top 5 ranked fighters for the next two years! So even then, who has JMM, who is my dude, defeated to make him #1? A man that lost his previous fight that took him four fights to drop him like that, it was bound to happen

Even a completely shot out Mosley and Margarito (even though the fight was above 147) were better wins than Bailey will ever be.

Speaking of which, is Mike Jones career effectively over?

Last I heard about him:

Mike Jones Remains in Limbo After Recent Withdrawal

By Rick Reeno

Welterweight contender Mike Jones (26-1, 19KOs) has decided to remain on sidelines after withdrawing from a planning return on June 1 at Bally's Event Center in Atlantic City.

Jones has been inactive since last June, when he was knocked out by Randal Bailey on the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Later that year, Jones attempted to break his promotional contract with Russell Peltz, who handles the boxer with Top Rank.

Peltz communicates with Jones through the fighter's attorney, Eric Melzer of New Jersey-based Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis

Jones appeared to be focused on a ring return and was recently training in Las Vegas with Eddie Mustafa Muhammad.

On March 22, Jones agreed to face Ray Narh (25-2, 21KOs) on the previously mentioned June date, but then changed his mind on March 29th and refused to sign a contract. No reason was provided, but Jones has several years remaining on his current promotional agreement.

Well obviously I never get more pumped than watching Floyd but I would be so pumped for all 3 fights. That Lara/Trout fight would be nice. I think I would lean toward Lara winning but a very tough fight. Got Em!!

Lara Trout is a dope fight but to casuals it may end up boring. Both are southpaws, Lara is a natural counter puncher and Trout can be hesitant to let his hands go and/or likes to jab at a safe distance. But with that said its a dope fight for 154. Lara has been in title Eliminators forever it seems!

I think that they will have Canelo fight the winner of the Trout/Lara so it's a good matchup for setting that up but it could be hugely boring, even for astute boxing fans.

I can see Canelo fighting Lara if Lara wins but not trout. Even though the first fight was super close I think they're happy Canelo escaped with the W and they'll leave it at that.

As for Floyd its pretty obvious in my mind he'll fight the Matthysse Garcia winner, which is why they're having it as the co-main event.

Lara isn't any better for Canelo though. Less fans, just as tricky of a style. I guess after looking semi-vulnerable against Angulo though, maybe they think they see something.

I still kinda wish Mares or Santa Cruz was on this card but they fight soon anyways which is cool

I don't see Floyd beating Matthysee. I'm gonna say it.
