Schaefer: Garcia-Matthysse Set For Mayweather-Canelo

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has officially announced that a deal has been finalized for WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) to defend his titles against mandatory challenger Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs) on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Saul Alvarez Showtime pay-per-view on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"The One just got even bigger. Floyd wanted to make the biggest pay-per-view possible," Schaefer said. "We*didn't have to make this fight. The tickets are already sold out. We want to give a big*thank you to the fight fans. This is the most expensive fight ever to get put on as [co-feature] on a pay-per-view. This is one of the most anticipated fights in the sport. It would have been much easier to put this on a separate date and more lucrative for us as a promoter, but this was done for the fans."
There will be a multi-city press tour to promote Garcia-Matthysse, which is going to include stops in New York City, Puerto Rico and Los Angeles. There will be an announcement next week on the press tour dates.
Both fighters are represented by powerful adviser Al Haymon.

But but i thought Al Haymon fighters didnt fight each other? I thought Al Haymon was ruining boxing and making wack fights? I thought Danny Garcia was too scared to fight? I thought Mayweather would never fight two times in one year? I thought Mayweather would never fight Canelo? How can Showtime pay for this fight since they lost so much money on Mayweathers last fight?

Bigface, per the Ali Act a boxing manager is legally not allowed to have two fighters fight and get paid from both. This is why Haymon fighters dont typically fight, however Haymon is technically a "personal advisor" to Matthysse thus how he can get away with it.
Matthysse has also been Garcia's mandatory for a long time, Garcia doesn't have much of a choice.

So basically you said it all for attention I get it now. Matthysse lost to Devon and Judah that's a fact not something i'm making up. By the way Matthysse dropped both guys and he still lost the fight. Until someone beats Mayweather in the ring he is unbeatable. Mayweather is looking for his next fight that's why Garcia vs. Mayweather is on the undercard. You so-called fans are so funny the Canelo fight is not even done yet and you're already on to the next guy to dickride and claim Mayweather is ducking so and so. I've been listening to this BS for years with you guys.. lol

It's all about business people. too much money is on the line for next year. GBP has not much fights for next year sso they have to set things up. Garcia will win by decision, mayweather by decision, they fight next year. Broner will fight judah, then maidana. Mathysse will fight the winner of Broner vs maidana. The winner of that fights Floyd late next year. And canelo will be blown away with the dust... unless he comes in the fight at 154 not giving a fuck and beating Floyd then this will change.
Garcia is gonna pull out of this fight with an injury...

Mayweather has never ran, from what I remember. Even when he's in trouble he holds. The guy rarely takes more than a step or two back at a time.
