Off Warner Brothers after two albums, 40 is back to work and enjoying the freedom of not having to be forced into a square FM hole, vowing to return as the mobbed out slang spitter for a whole album with Revenue Retrieving this November.

On this upcoming album, though, I’m free. I can do what I want. I can just be me and if a motherfucker don’t like it, they don’t gotta buy it. I’m gonna be the E-40 from the beginning. Mr. Flamboyant.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO LIKED "BALL STREET JOURNAL"? I THOUGHT IT WAS WAY BETTER THAN "GHETTO REPORT CARD" BUT THIS NEW ALBUM LOOKS LIKE IT'S GONNA BE THE BEST 40 ALBUM SINCE "HALL OF GAME". I DON'T KNOW ABOUT GETTING A BONER OVER IT THOUGH.

call me crazy, i fucking LOVED "Wake It Up" - I mustve slapped that things from March to September last summer and never got tired of it.

But, Ball Street Journal was definitly not a good album. The concepts, hooks, etc etc just wasnt working. Its okay to have some big features like Akon, Jezzy, etc, but lets hear Yuk or something on a Bay slapper. Get back to the bay-sics.

I love "The Ball Street Journal"! I can't understand why some cats are saying it wasn't as good as his older shit? I have been knockin' 40 Water since his first solo "Federal" and The Click's "Down & Dirty"! All I can think is these certain cats are stuck in the 90's and don't know how to move on.

Anyway, my favorite on the album now is "Got Rich Twice" with Turf Talk. The thing about 40 is he is way ahead of his time with every album. I seem to move to a new track on his current album every other month as my favorite. His music is so quality and put together with so much creativity that I dissect it slowly... I remember when I first bought this album my favorite track was "Alcoholism", then "Hustlin", then "I Can Sell It", etc...

"tell it like it is", "i can sell it", "alcoholism", "earl", "the recipe", "pray for me", "the ambassador", "hustle" and most importantly "got rich twice"

how could you NOT like this album atleast a little?

only songs i wasn't feelin was "slidin down the pole" and "break ya ankles"...the rest i could deal with if not thoroughly enjoy

and it's depressing that 40 is already over 40...but honestly i hope he keeps making music til he's 80, i'll buy it
