I know that it is old but they weren't doing it right back in the day. Now they are doing it right. By making the whole movie in 3D as opposed to some scene in 3D and some that are not.
This movie wasn't intended to be 3D though. They are only converting it to 3D now. (Who knows how much will actually be 3D? How cool can it be if it isn't originally intended to be 3D?) This seems pretty obvious to me that it is a marketing ploy - which is another factor leading me to believe 3D is a fad.

damn geeknose don't even know what the kraken is? fuck

This was the kraken in the OG film:

the new kraken looks pretty dope.

I'll remain optimistic for this movie, but at the same time I wont hold my breath usually remakes like this end up like one my all time favorite movies, The Time Machine, which was remade into complete garbage.

Clash of The Titans Movie

Movie: Clash of the Titans (2010)

Tagline: The Clash Begins 4-2-2010 See »

Trivia: Liam Neeson took a role in this film because his sons are big fans of Greek mythology.
See »

Goofs: Factual errors: Hades was not the evil “God of Hell”. He was simply the overseer of the Underworld, and was probably the most morally neutral figure in all of Greek mythology.

As a child I thought animation was terrible and the mythology was fucked. Looks to be the same this time around. I'm sure the 3D that they added in at the last minute will really help.

Greek mythology in general, or just the story used in the movie?

And what did you expect the animation to look like in 1981??? Talk about unreachable standards...sheesh.

How they bastardized the mythology. Mixing up various myths and combining non-greek myths. Calling it clash of the titans, etc. Greek mythology is deep and well constructed enough on its own to make a movie quite easily. All that other shit just made it retarded. That was my opinion as a child and still is now.

Apparently I expected more or at least not retarded claymation mixed with people. I thought it looked lame as a child. I’m not even injecting my opinions of its crappyness now.

Creature from the Black Lagoon in 1954 looked better than the Kraken did in Clash of the Titans in 1981

damn, you were a movie critic at age 2?
Well I didn't see it in the theaters. It was either HBO or video years after the theatrical release. I was still a child, but older than 2.

E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark & Temple of Doom, All 3 Star Wars movies, Ghostbusters, Gremlins All these were movies I saw at relatively the same time. Why/how would I think Clash of the Titans would be cool?

It is fine that you thought it was the greatest thing since combining peanut butter and jelly as a kid. At about the same age, give or take, I didn't. Seems like not much changed with age.

How did you know so much about Greek mythology as a child? Maybe need to define the word "child", as you can be 17 and still legally be a child. No offense, but you will be hard pressed to find any 7 year old who can understand the complexity's of Greek Mythology. So I guess I am having a hard time believing you were a Greek mythology major as a kid.

Well I don’t have an exact timeline of when I started liking mythology and when I first saw Clash of the Titans. I know without a doubt it was before 4th grade. I estimate I probably got into Greek mythology around 2nd or 3rd grade. I quite enjoyed Greek Mythology in particular as it was most accessible to me. It was one of the things I was into as a kid. I read books about it in the school library and my parents had some college books on Greek and roman mythology that I read.

I don't know that I knew the "complexities" of Greek Mythology but I sure knew all the major myths and the whole pantheon of gods/goddesses/heroes, what a Titan was, etc. Enough to know the movie was bullshit.

My parents gave me their copy of this when they saw how interested I was in it. I know I read the Odyssey sometime before 5th grade and the Iliad sometime before 6th for sure.

When I was a freshman in college I took Greek mythology and aced it without doing anything but listening to the lectures (no studying or reading) because I already knew all the myths from when I was a kid.
