the mafia had no hand in creating the bloods and the crips
I know the mafia had nothing to do with the creation of bloods and crips, and anyone who would believe that for a second is an idiot. I was trying to show the similarities between that comparison and the creation of rock 'n' roll (between WHITE and BLACK). African Americans singing the blues would be like the mafia, while bloods & crips would be rock music as we know it today, completely different worlds... much more on this later.

and on the issue of who created rock and roll? everyone had a part in creating it, leave it alone because theres no proof of any "one" creating shit, People created it, Talented people, leave it at that.
You hit it on the head with your first comment. Rock 'n' roll is multi-cultural, it always has been (more on this later). As for proof, there are factual records showing who did what in contribution to rock 'n' roll, I have gathered many facts and will lay them out at a later time. African Americans are probably the most significant factor in it's creation, but without European Americans, rock would (arguably) fall under the catagory of blues in our era.

Right now im on the process of writing an article entitled "The ROOTS of Rock 'n' Roll" that I will more than likely post in this forum when finished. I'm about 1/3 done with it, but I feel I have a lot left to write. It is completely without bias or racial motivation; all based on research.

Fuck sweepin' it under the rug, put it out there then. I looked for the article but I couldn't find it. I have heard the term "Devil's Music" before, but I couldn't find anything in relation to Jerry Lee Lewis. If you can locate and post the article I would be more then willing to read it.

BUT PERSONALLY, I WAS TOLD BAK IN THE DAY THAT IT STARTED WITH TOOKIE AND SOME OTHA NIggA(RAYMOND WASHINgTON).
I was watching some special on t.v. the other day about the guy who invented "crips". Some guy locked up in prison for the murder of a 17 year old. He writes books now, and preaches against gangs and violence. I don't remember his name, but Raymond Washington sound familiar, is that the guy?

They used to say that it was devil's music because the beat was evil.

They used to say that since a 4-4 went along with the human heart, it caused people to basically trip out and do evil shit.

That's where the song "Heart of Rock N Roll" came from.

lyrics like this:"they say the heart of rock n roll is the beat, and from what they say I believe em"

"The heart of rock n roll IS STILL BEATING, and from what IVE SEEN I believe them"

Has nothing to do with your theory, if you knew the real story behind the song.

So you mean to tell me that Chuck Berry & Little Richard were blues musicians? I think not. They created rock and roll.

Then white dudes immulated the styles. Don't believe me?

Paul McCartney, memeber of the greatest rock band of all time, has said over and over that he copied Little Richards style. Not only that, but "Twist and Shout" was an Isley Bros hit way before the Beatles, and yes the Isleys were all rock back then.

Eric Clapton, considered one of the greatest rock/blues guitarists, has said that "rock n roll came from black musicians." Research that quote.

Everyone knows that Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis ripped off black music and refined it for white masses. Becuase until a white man performed it, it was "the devils music." Jerry Lee's biopic shows this in detail.

Not to mention that the greatest guitar player, a backup guiitarist for early rock musicians Isley Bros, turned out to be a black man, Jimi Hendrix. His style has been emulated all over the place in rock music.

How come you guys just don't recognize the facts. Black people created rock, just like they created blues, jazz, soul, r&B, rap. Yall created metal rock, thats yours.

And already dead, you said Creedence music came from country. Creedence was born in El Cerrito, they aint country boys. Creedence wasnt only country-rock, they were Bayou music, rockabilly music, r&b, blues, even some funk. But I bet you dont even listen to thier shit, so fuck it. Oh yeah, and thier lead singer John Fogerty has also said that Little Richard is his main influence. And A LOT of his guitar work is Chuck Berry-esque.

And then you also talked about the Beatles and said " bands said fuck that style." Thats rock boy. How you gonna dismiss the Beatles. Dont you know that they weren't only "I Wanna Hold You Hand" type of shit. They also came out with the most influential rock album of all time "Sgt. Pepper" They had hella different kinds of songs which influenced ALL that came after them, including Creedence, the dead and skynard. None of them said fuck The Beatles... Beatles were thier daddys.

Skynard, them boys are from Florida and are not country rock. They were Southern blues rock, big difference.

You were partly right about the Grateful Dead. They were from Frisco and weren't totally country rock, but an earlier form of country called bluegrass, plus they incorperated psycadeilic rock of the bay area and folk music.

And plus nobody is saying Chuck Berry is responsible for Kurt Cobain, but he is responsible for the musical tree that Kurt Kobain branches off from.

And yes, if the Spainards never invented the guitar, there would be no rock n roll.

I know I said I was gonna stay out of these threads, but fuck it, Im talkin music now. And I want to see Nitros research paper.

There was a big anti-England climate...they had this idea like they were the shit and sayin fuck American bands, etc.

And like Black Sabbath, etc., couldn't have come from trhe Beatles. If you listen to Johnny Cash and many popular country musicians in and around the time rock exploded, the styles were getting closer and closer, yet the country contribution has all but forgotten. Yes, Creedence was from El Cerrito...

But calling rock music a "black art" today is misguided...we don't call Computer Science "Math", or Physics "Calculations", they have a new identity and characteristic independant of early building blocks/contributions. Yes, Black People had a huge hand in Rock And Roll's beginnings. But I wouldn't say they invented it 100%.

When Ozzy Osborne met Paul McCartney for the first time on the Howard Stern show, he told him "You guys are the reason I started to do music."

So yes, according to Ozzy himself, Beatles are responsible for Sabbath... as well as many other bands.

Alright then I'll give you that, but bands were influenced by country, and the american musical climate which consisted of several types of music.

And if the Spaniards didn't invent the guitar there would be no rock. So did the Spaniards invent rock? How far back on the timeline will we take it? I'm just saying realize that anyone living in a multicultural country such as America is not influenced in any venture by the primary culture of one race.

that not even a good anology. And besides rock is not a guitar, its in music scales that can be played on any instrament.
