^^how you gonna say Hopkins was a lot bigger then oscar, but dismiss oscar being hella bigger then pacquiao?? The only time oscar was ever knocked out was by hopkins. What's that say?? But at least then though Oscar had a previous fight at 160 (he didn't look good), Pacman has had ONE fight at 135 and now he's going to jump all the way up to about 150? that's crazy.

Also, yeah you're right manny is taken the fight but the purse split is 65/35. Oscar wont even give him 60/40 even though he's got the upper hand which is weak sauce.

This will be the third fight in a row oscar has fought someone smaller then him and coming up in weight (pacquiao 135, mayweather 147, stevie forbes 135). Oscar is at 154 and has too LOSE hella weight just to make 154.

The point is De La Hoya is big and he's been in there with bigger opponents. Now he's figthing someone that is much smaller than he is. Weak!

Forbes had at least fought at 150lbs when he was on the Contender and even beat a good prospect in Bojado at around 145. Pacquiao just made the move to 135. A 65/35 split in a DLH really isn't all that bad considering it's still a nasty chunk of change. I don't really care to see this fight, even though I will, but money is the reason most folks lace up the gloves in the first place.

Hopefully they have a dope undercard ..

i can accept that. my point is DLH aint in his prime like pac man is. so they had to even things out. just my opinion though. iam a lil biased since DLH is my fav boxer. still think this will be a good fight and dont see how people think DLH has an over whelming advantage.

No doubt...It's always dumb crackin on fight weekends (especially since it's 2 of boxing's biggest draws). Pacquiao always bring out the filipina bitches and the same with Oscar with latinas. All of the celebrities will be in the buildin too.

Pacquiao is so popular with Mexican fans because he fights like a traditional Mexican fighter; full steam ahead, throwing bombs, exciting...ie. Barerra, Morales, Chavez, etc., recently.

And no, I don't claim him.

I respect what he's accomplished, and acknowledge it, but am not a ''proud fan'' of ''The Golden Boy"...

<<< ROFL @ ''chingon de chingones''...

He's "The Golden Boy"...

yeah he did get caught against forbes and even slightly cracked his orbital bone. But still, Oscar has a fantastic chin. He's never been KO'd besides by Bernard Hopkins and that was a body shot. Oscar also really shouldn't have been fighting at 160, I mean he looked like shit against Strum.

Pacquiao: "This Fight Won't Be Easy For De La Hoya"

By Ronnie Nathanielsz

An official statement has been issued by WBC lightweight champion Manny Pacquiao and was read to BoxingScene.com/InsideSports.ph by Pacquiao's attorney Franklin Gacal, with respect to Pacquiao's agreement to face Oscar De La Hoya on HBO pay-per-view on December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao confirms his agreement to face De La Hoya in December and makes it clear that he will not be an easy opponent for De La Hoya.

“I have agreed in principle to accept the December 6 fight against Oscar De La Hoya. This will be the toughest test in my boxing career because of the reach and height advantage of my esteemed opponent, aside from his great boxing skills."

"This fight however will not be a walk-in-the-park for Oscar De a Hoya. Boxing fans will see the same fire and intensity which they have witnessed in my previous fights. I will frustrate the desire of Oscar De La Hoya to avenge the defeats of the great Mexican boxers who lost to me," Pacquiao said. "I am dedicating this forthcoming fight to my countrymen and all the boxing fans all over the world."
