another cell phone video

like i said earlier, if the officer is acquitted, or doesn't even face any charges, shits about to pop off. last month, athens was burned down for weeks because cops shot a teen. the L.A. riots started cause they beat up rodney king. here, we have the police made the man lay face down on the floor and then shoot him execution style.

Bart needs to be proactive and be on the Grant's family's side and push for charges against the officer. That is the only way to save face. Cause like it's been said the roof will blow off this fucker if he gets away with this.

I agree that the only thing BART public relations can do now is turn against the stupid officer who is tarnishing their name. They have as much to lose in this as anyone. That cop should lose his job immediately, and charges should be brought against him.

Well the BART cops are now saying he was reaching for his Taser Gun, the video clearly shows that he reached for his gun ...

I hope he does go to prison tho...

This shit is fucked up. I am not gonna defend what the cop did, because its completely unexcusable.

But I think some people might not really realize exactly what a BART cop is. BART gets federal funding, and this makes a BART cop technically a federal agent. They are not like a mall cop or some rent a cop security guard, you do not want to fuck with them. I used to think that they were like some fuckin rent a cop type shit, but they are definitely not. Now I dont know what set the situation off, and clearly the cop was out of line, but maybe if these guys had gone into the situation thinking of BART cops as federal agents, the whole thing could have been avoided.

Again I am 100% not defending the BART cop. That motherfucker deserves life in prison or worse, but I think that this situation could have been avoided if the dude and his friends actually knew the big picture for the situation.

cmon dog regardless if the youngsters thought they were rentacops or feds, regardless of what was said or did or how they felt about the cops and why they were being detained, there is no excuse to shoot a defenseless person in the back. i dont see your point here what are you getting at? you say you think the cop deserves to get the book thrown at him but what does the youngsters opinion on if they are legit cops or not have anything to do with the situation being avoided?

I completely agree with you, there is no excuse for what the cop did. I'm just saying that I think a lot of people think of BART cops as rent a cops or whatever (saw some people say that in the thread too), and this could lead to them acting differently than if it was ATF, DEA, FBI, whatever. Like if I am in a mall and a mall cop starts shit with me I might be tempted to punch him in the fucking face and then leave the mall. If its a BART cop, FBI agent, DEA, whatever, my attitude would be completely different. Now I dont think that the guy and his friends were necessarily doing anything stupid, and obviously the cop was way out of line, but maybe they could have acted differently to not even get handcuffed face down in the first place.

And again, I am 100% against what the cop did, its a complete abuse of power and just a straight up bitch move. Shooting and unarmed, handcuffed man lying on his stomach in the back.

i see what you're saying but it's really not even a factor. we can sit here all day and come up with shit on how it could have been avoided, fact is it happened and the cameras show everything that needs to be known in this case regardless if it was rentacop, bart pd, opd, fed, dea whatever. like you said theres no excuse so your just contradicting your own argument...regardless we both agree the cop should be locked up
