Marquez is only interested in fighting cab drivers to set up a potential pacquiao fight. He has absolutely no interest in fighting anyone halfway decent. (I believe JMM is set to fight Al Sabaupan (who?!) next).

Although I agree it would be nice to see marquez give him a lesson.

the other thing is Ajose Olusegun is the WBC mandatory #1 contender at 140. He's been waiting for his chance at a title shot for a long time (dude has been the #1 challenger for like 3 years now but he keeps getting shafted). The WBC says he is next in line.

But, Garcia won both the WBC & WBA title so I can see him vacating the WBC belt and just keeping the WBA belt, since Ajose Olusegun isn't that known obviously (although he really does deserve his shot).

Olusegun was supposed to be the mandatory challenger to Garcia after he beat Erik Morales, but then the Khan fight was made.

“When I fight Garcia, I’m going to beat the nonsense out of him."

Anyways, Ajose Olusegun is an awkward fighter, and he's really interesting at times (clowns around, keeps his hands behind his back, "drunken style fighting" at times, etc.). I don't know if he could beat Garcia or not, but he would definitely have a chance.

Damn why all the hate for Khan? After the first knockdown..He was not all there and still took some hard shots and withstood them and was fight back. The stopage was lightweight weak but he never really regained himself after that first knock down. I feel like he could have still continued but those hard shots could have really fucked him up....

Khan is a beast if you ask me..Yeah he got caught with a wild punch, but he has good skills. Khan is still young and has been humbled as of late...I think he will be a problem still...

Judah looked great on that NBC telacast a couple weeks back...If he fights like he did then he can give alot of young fighters an run for their money..

khan showed a lot of heart he deserves credit for that.

I like what andre ward tweeted after the fight he said something like, "fans always criticize a fighter for not fighting toe to toe, but as soon as they do and get knocked out they say he didn't fight smart. which one is it?"

I don't think it was a bad stoppage. I actually think the ref let Khan continue after the first knockdown because it was khan and he is supposed to be a "big" fighter. But after 3 knockdowns, he has to ask himself is this guy goin to be effective?

Both Schaefer and promoter Lou DiBella have
confirmed that discussions are ongoing to
finalize a high-stakes junior welterweight clash
between Olusegun Ajose and Lucas Matthysse -
with the WBC's interim-title likely at stake. The
fight would take place as the Showtime televised
co-feature to Devon Alexander vs. Randall Bailey
on September 8.
If Matthysse (31-2, 29KOs) prevails, Schaefer
would explore the possibility of a mouth-
watering fight with Garcia.
"That's a possibility. Can you imagine if
Matthysse [fought Garcia]...I don't really know
Ajose, so I'm not trying to disrespect him, but I
don't really know Ajose. But I saw Matthysse,
what he did to [Humberto] Soto. Matthysse, at
140...[Garcia] and Matthysee, can you imagine
that? A pick'em fight," Schaefer said.
Garcia's convincing victory at the Mandalay Bay
was surprising to many, including some of the
executives at Golden Boy. But they don't expect
anyone to underestimate Garcia in the future.
"Obviously we know that he's a tough guy. I
think he surprised everybody. He's the kind of
guy, when he fought Kendall Holt and Erik
Morales, he stepped up to the plate. I think it's
going to be difficult for anyone to beat Danny
Garcia. We saw that he could take a punch. He
doesn't take a step back. And when he hits - it's
lights out," Schaefer said.

Great point by Ward. Got Em!!

But thats not why u stop a fight? If a fighter is still alert and responds to u then u should continue to let him fight. Like I said he actually couldve stopped it after the first knockdown and I wouldnt have had a prob with it because to me he didnt respond right away and it looked like he gave Khan a bit more time to respond. I do agree he l;et it conmtinue after the first knockdown probably due to what u said but if u are gonna stop it make sure the fighter cant continue is all I ask. Khan looked like he was ready to continue. Got Em!!

DANNY SWIFT GARCIA THE NEW AMERICAN SUPERSTAR!!!!

Just watched the fight. (plus all the post fight hype)

I loved watching Khan get his ass handed to him. I think Khan is a great fighter, but he's fairly cocky / a show off/ overconfident in his skills. He is a tremendous athlete, but doesn't think that well in the ring as a fighter. Garcia was a BIG underdog and pulled out the a huge upset. I'm loving it. I Love when HBO's guys get squashed. Hopefully Canelo can also get a little dose of reality in Josesito Lopez after all these safe opponents. Props to Goldenboy for finally making their cash cows earn their pay, and for entertaining us TRUE fans on the way.

fuck judah hes washed up lol...garcia would win easy...the best fight for him i think for the fans would be matthysse...that would be sick..for the money fight,i think he needs to move to 147 and beat paulie or alexander...then hel get real money..maybe even fight joseto lopez???
I like your money fights. Garcia deserves one.

But I have to disagree with you about Zab being an easy fight for Garcia. A fighter like Garcia who's a hooky monster is open for uppercuts, and Zab has one of the worst in boxing.
