2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx I never thought about the Cotto vs Martinez fight that way until you said it. I was rooting for Cotto but now I gotta roll with Martinez. The only thing is I think if Cotto is to win he would drop the titles and let GB and TR purse bid for those too. GGG vs Quillin would then for sures happen under the TR banner.

Deontay Wilder tells TMZ Sports ... the only reason he agreed to fight Internet troll Charlie Zelenoff was to teach him a lesson about bullying and SAVE HIS LIFE.

Wilder -- the reigning WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight -- says Zelenoff has been harassing him for 3 years ... calling him the N-word in texts and in phone calls and even threatening to harm his young daughter.

"He said he was going to murder me. He said he was going to tape my daughter's mouth ... when dealing with my kids, that's below the belt. That's what really got me."

Wilder says he finally got fed up with the constant harassment and told Zelenoff to meet him at the Hollywood Boxing Gym on May 7 to settle their beef once and for all.
But before they squared off, Wilder says his manager drew up a waiver for Zelenoff to sign ... in which Charlie acknowledged that he would be fighting a trained boxer and agreed not to sue for any damage he incurred during the bout.

"It was a great contract and he was willing to sign it," Wilder says ... "He agreed to all of the terms. He knew what was going on."

Of course, Wilder proceeded to beat Charlie's ass -- and he hopes Zelenoff learned his lesson.

"I genuinely care for the guy. I want him to stop [harassing people] before he messes with the wrong person. You never know who you're dealing with."

Sidenote -- Wilder was wearing two RIGHT gloves during the fight ... because he accidentally grabbed the wrong set when he set out to the gym that day.

But Deontay says the mix-up was a blessing in disguise, because had he connected with the left hook while wearing the right gear ... he's afraid he could've caused some serious damage.

"He would have been hurt."

As for Charlie's request for a rematch, Wilder says he wont fight Zelenoff again -- saying, "I feel like I made my point with him already."

Some good news comes out of the bad news of this months cancelled May 24th card. Daniel Geale and Macklin is off, and Geale announced on Facebook he's close to getting a big HBO fight in July. We already know Golovkin has a July date. After three failed attempts, looks like we'll finally have GGG vs Geale. Excellent MW fight

Maybe it will be Khan vs Floyd next after all, inside reports saying Maidana-Floyd PPV did 854,000 buys. Needed to do around 1.3-1.5 to break even. Those numbers cant justify a $32m guaranteed purse for Floyd
Do u think a rematch would do better numbers than a Khan/Mayweather fight since there are folks that think it was a close fight or even think Maidana may have won? Got Em!!

I don't know. I'm thinking Khan has a bigger name and since he looked so good against Collazo he'll do better numbers.

Maidana was a 10-1 underdog so I guess it's not too surprising. They could really try to sell the rematch, really make it seem as Maidana nearly won, etc., I think it would do better a second time most likely, but Showtime may feel more comfortable with Khan's name value.

I watched the fight again last night and I scored it the same 116-112 Mayweather. I gave Maidana the 1st, 4th, 5th, & 11th round. Like I said it was a good fight but the outcome was clear in my eyes. I think a rematch would be worse and I dont think Floyd would let Maidana get him on the ropes as much as he did the first time. It was clear in the middle of the ring it was a mismatch. Either way however they wanna do it Ill be tuned in whether its part 2 or Khan. Got Em!!

Yeah it was clear I had it slightly closer at 7-5 but clear nonetheless. Still toughest fight for Floyd in a long time. I also agree in a rematch Floyd would probably win wider because he'll use way more foot movement, like he did against Guerrero and he'll stay away from the ropes. But Chino shows absolutely no respect for Floyd so he can still probably rough him up from time to time.

I dunno, if I'm Showtime I'd be a lil worried about a rematch, since Floyd has such insane min purse. Another subpar PPV (for Floyd's standards ) and they better start trying to figure out a way to get Pacquiao. After Khan there just aren't any names, unless they get real risky and start thinking about Sergio Martinez at middleweight.

At the time, I was thinking the 2nd was close but I gave it to Maidana if I remember correctly. I thought he took the first 3-4 rounds. I also thought he took 11 and 12 but 11 was close if my memory serves me right. It was close. I missed the few rounds were Floyd really hit his stride though and haven't gone back to watch it.

It was a very tough fight to judge. Teddy Atlas, after the fight, said Floyd was too caught up in his defense that he really didn't let loose til the middle rounds and it made it very hard for anyone to judge who was the winner. Maidana gassing out didn't help either, he could have easily won the fight had he not gassed out

Naw the winner was clear but it was a good fight. Also of course Maidana gassed. Anyone that throws that many punches will gas and it was part of Floyd's plan as he said after the first round in his corner. Who can throw 100 punches every round lol. Missing punches tire u out more than landing punches and Maidana missed a lot. Got Em!!
