lol. Let me give you something to think about.

Litzaz Top 10 super featherweight
Perez Top 10 super featherweight Broner was going to fight Ricky Burns but Burns moved up to bum ass Katsidis at 135lb.
Escobedo at guy that the Ghost won a 10 round UD against and Broner play with and Ko'ed in 5 rounds.
.
lol litzau & perez are whack ass fighters man. litzau had already been brutally KO'd by who? Oh right Robert Guerrero 4 years prior. And prior to that he was brutally KO'd by Jose Hernandez. That's what litzau does, he gets brutally KO'd and makes guys look good.

Cocaine Eloy Perez was never very good. In fact he's from Washington state, I've seen him fight live a few years back. He's entire career is against local guys in Tacoma & Cali, basically a padded record. His first real step up in competition was against Broner and he was high on cocaine when it happened.

Escobedo is mediocre at best.

Now, Broner has done what he's supposed to do - beat these guys asses. And no one should discredit for that. He's taking care of business as he should. But his lack of quality opposition is a legit concern for critics of his or skeptics or whatever you want to call them. The point is let's see broner beat some quality guys, then let's talk about moving up in weight and taking on the big names. As of right now, we don't really know how good he is. Gary Russell jr. looks like a beast but he hasn't fought anyone yet. Deontay Wilder looks like a beast but he's fought nothing but bums. It's too early to tell how good these guys are until they really step up (look at The Black Russian and how people (including myself) were saying he could be the very best at LHW then he got his chin checked).

man you are such a moron. smh

Marquez has a big mexican following, he's a big star. Now again, I'm IN FAVOR of the bradley fight (I don't want to see marquez 4) but marquez-pac would likely do better numbers than bradley, period. Shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out (1.41 million buys vs ~900,000). Casual fans already saw Pacquiao beat Bradley, not everyone is going to be interested in watching it again.
LOL. There is not one offical release of the Marquez PPV numbers, so I beleive it was more like 1.2 million. Now there are no offical PPV from the Mosley and Bradley fight either other then what Bob Arum said there where. Everyone is interested in Manny fighting Marquez or Bradley to tell you the truth. And your corny Manny boot licking ass better watch your mouth with all your naming calling to Fuckboy..

lol here we go with the ppv numbers. 1.4 mil is what has been reported by everywhere. if bob arum simply lies about ppv numbers (and the media are too lazy to figure it out) then why doesn't he say marquez 3 did 1.8 million? bradley did 1.5 million (instead of 900,000)? margarito did 2.7 million? lol the entire media is in on the conspiracy!

Gamboa won every round - 8-0. He totally shut down Ponce De Leon. The three judges had it 80-72, 80-72 and 79-73. ESPN.com also had it 80-72, i.e a complete shutout.

Gamboa also fought Ponce at 126 pounds (not 130).

Now go back to making up stories.
I posted a ESPN.com scorecard I'm so very smart. lol

101 of 243 connect rate 42% Broner
119 of 392 connect rate 30% Ponce

or

116 of 379 connect rate 31% Gamboa
91 of 360 connect rate 25% Ponce

Again dickhead Gamboa had a hard time landing on Ponce just like Broner and Gamboa has a 2004 Olympic gold medal and is 30 yrs old.

Now go back to looking at ur Manny poster Fuckboy.

Shut up dumb ass. So Mayweather PPV's number have to be offically released by HBO for you to beleive them, but you beleive Arums PPV's numbers with no offical HBO release. lol Mr. Double talk is at it again.

Litzau? Really?
Perez?

Comon, these are club fighters.

Broner came in way over for the Escobedo fight.
I don't care if Broner is knocking people out. That has nothing to do with anything. So he looks good beating people. I don't really see how that justifies beating someone winning UD's. It's boxing. Not a fight to the death match.

I guess we will never know.
One, Broner is hesitating moving up to 140, let alone 147.
As much trash as Broner talks, Guerrero is a bigger name and would have all the bargaining power and Broner's ego wouldnt let him be treated that way.

Im not so sure The Ghost is the bigger name. What were his numbers for his last fight on cable? Broner's last fight on HBO was like the highest rated regular cable fight in a few years. HBO has been turning down fights and welcoming Broner fights. U might wanna check into that playa. Got Em!!

just to correct u - broners last fight was the highest rated Boxing After Dark in the past year or so. regular hbo boxing has done a lot more numbers, hopkins vs pascal, Chavez, Canelo, etc etc. but for boxing after dark it was very solid numbers.

the guy has a bit of a buzz around him, no doubt.

Abner Mares vs. Anselmo Moreno on October 13th
Published August 17, 2012 | By eastside | 25 Comments

By Marcus Richard: Having failed at getting IBF/WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire to take interest in fighting him, WBO super bantamweight champion Abner Mares (24-0-1, 13 KO’s) will have to settle for a bout against 27-year-old WBA Super World bantamweight champion Anselmo Moreno (33-1-1, 12 KO’s) on October 13th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fight will be for the 26-year-old Mares’ World Boxing Council 122 pound title rather than Moreno’s 118 lb WBA strap. It’s a good fight because Moreno might actually be a better fighter than Donaire, but not as big of a draw unfortunately. A win over Moreno will look good for Mares, because he’s still building his name. Mares has already beaten former IBF bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko twice and Vic Darchinyan. Mares wants to fight Donaire and WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux.

However, the fight with Rigondeaux may be a tough one to put together because he fights for Top Rank, whereas Mares is with Golden Boy Promotions. As such, the fight against Moreno may be about as good it gets for Mares unless Top Rank and Golden Boy can somehow let this fight take place. I highly doubt that Mares will get a shot against Donaire, though, because he’s a money fighter his promoter Bob Arum is matching him carefully right now. Mares, as well as Rigondeaux, might be too dangerous for Donaire.

Moreno did a lot better job of beating Darchinyan than Mares did. Moreno defeated Darchinyan by a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision last year in December. In contrast, Mares has a controversial 12 round split decision win over Darchinyan from December 2010 in a fight where Mares landed a lot of low blows against Darchinyan.

Tim Bradley: F*ck It, Let's Go To War

By Ryan Burton

WBO welterweight champion Tim "Desert Storm" Bradley (29-0, 12KOs) has kept a low profile over the past month as he waits for Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38KOs) to make a decision on his next HBO pay-per-view opponent. The Filipino fighter is slated to return to the ring on November 10th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and he's still mulling over a rematch with Bradley in addition to a fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez and a rematch with Miguel Cotto.

Back in June, Pacquiao said that he wanted to exercise his rematch option immediately after his controversial majority decision loss to Bradley. The Southern California native hopes that Pacquiao doesn't change his mind so that he can prove to the world that he is the better of the two fighters.

Bradley also knows that the fight will be under the microscope of the media due to the first fight's controversial nature and that there will be more pressure on him to win in a convincing fashion.

"No doubt. F*** it. Let's go to war for the viewers," Bradley told BoxingScene.com

Bradley feels that a clear cut victory over Manny Pacquiao this time around will lead him right into another mega-fight. This time versus Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"A fight versus Floyd could happen. I just have to school Pac this time to make it happen," Bradley stated.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has told various news outlets, including BoxingScene, that he is open to working with rapper turned boxing promoter 50 Cent so a future Mayweather-Bradley fight appears to be possible.

TMT PROMOTIONS FINALIZING DETAILS OF NOVEMBER CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLEHEADER
By Ben Thompson | August 19, 2012

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. This November, TMT Promotions will be looking to make a great and lasting one when they stage their very first promotional event. According to a source, promoter 50 Cent is putting together the final details of a doubleheader that will feature undefeated former featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa and top super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell making their promotional debuts.

Although details of the event have yet to be finalized, our source tells us that both Gamboa and Dirrell will be fighting for world titles. Gamboa, who last fought in September of 2011, will be facing IBF super featherweight champion Juan Carlos Salgado while Dirrell, who last fought in December of 2011, will likely face WBA interim champion Brian Magee.

MARQUEZ OUT AND BRADLEY IN AS PACQUIAO'S OPPONENT ON NOVEMBER 10?
By Ben Thompson | August 20, 2012

Apparently, undefeated WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is the likely frontrunner to land the November 10 assignment to face 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. According to a source, WBO jr. welterweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who was hoping to face Pacquiao for a fourth time, has priced himself out of the opportunity, demanding far more money than what promoter Bob Arum believes he's worth.

"It's business. Marquez wants too much money and they are simply not going to pay an opponent the kind of money he's demanding," our source commented, explaining that the economics of a fourth fight between Pacquiao and Marquez may not be quite as profitable if both fighters are making double digit million dollar purses. Marquez's demands have essentially opened the door for Bradley, whose first fight with Pacquiao was not the financial success that they were hoping for, but nonetheless still profitable.

The fact that Bradley is willing to take the fight for a much smaller purse than Marquez will ultimately mean more bottom line profit for Top Rank, especially if Arum was also able to convince Pacquiao that he too would have to take a smaller purse for the rematch. In fact, that may be the reason why Arum suggested "the pay-per-view networks, the cable companies and the satellite people in the United States don't believe that Bradley will do appreciable business" and "they are not going to spend the money we need them to spend."

Just last week, Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer revealed that Top Rank officially requested the date of November 10 for Pacquiao's next fight to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The news lends credence to the belief that Marquez, who has also stood firm on his refusal to face Pacquiao in Las Vegas, is now out of the running. Coincidentally, around that same time, Bradley began amping up his own verbal attacks, suggesting Pacquiao was afraid to face him again and even commenting, "Floyd [Mayweather] flattens Manny Pacquiao." Although Bradley insists that he's unsure if the rematch with Pacquiao will indeed take place, our source tells us that it's simply an act and Bradley is already creating hype for a fight that he's already been offered. "Bradley is acting out of character again; basically selling the fight already. He's been made the offer, and believe me, he's taking it," the source added.

As for Marquez, there's a very strong possibility that he could be facing IBF jr. welterweight champion Lamont Peterson in the near future. Although the IBF has declared that Peterson must face mandatory challenger Zab Judah, both Lamont and his trainer, Barry Hunter, have sounded as if there's a possibility that the fight may not come to fruition during recent interviews. Furthermore, they have both been extremely thankful of Bob Arum's support throughout Peterson's ordeal pertaining to the failed drug test. Not to mention, Peterson himself has suggested that the fight he wants most is a showdown with fellow jr. welterweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez. With Pacquiao quickly running out of Top Rank opponents, don't be surprised if Peterson and Marquez do indeed face off, with the winner promised a 2013 showdown against Pacquiao.

JOSEPH AGBEKO: "I'LL BE BACK BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR...I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FUTURE"
By David Kassel | August 20, 2012

"I'm in training very hard to come back, so definitely I'll be back before the end of the year, and definitely before the end of November...I'm looking forward to the future back in the ring. I'm looking to get back in the ring with Mares again, (Guillermo) Rigondeaux, (Nonito) Donaire, Anselmo Moreno, and every one of those top guys. Once I get back in the ring, I'm definitely looking to get in the ring with one of them," stated former bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko, who talked about his current promotional situation, his future plans, and much more. Check it out!

DK: Joseph, what's going on?

JA: Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. I'm in training in the gym right now.

DK: I appreciate the time to speak with you. You're in training right now. What has been going on?

JA: Um, I've been inactive for some time now due to some legal issues with Don King. I've been with Don King and I'm not getting the proper pay or the right kind of fights. I'm trying to get free from my contract so I can be active.

DK: Your last fight was back in December against Abner Mares. You haven't been in the ring since then. Can you tell us a bit about what is going on?

JA: Don King has breached the contract, so technically, I am automatically freed from the contract. Because we have a pending lawsuit, we have to go to court to settle that and I'm arguing so I can get back in the ring.

DK: I heard a rumor that you made less than $10,000 for your fight with Mares when all was said and done. Can you confirm or deny that?

JA: Um, my lawyers have told me not to talk about anything regarding my suit. I'm not allowed to say anything about that for now, so I cannot speak anything about that.

DK: There was a statement you made a couple months ago that you were a free agent. Was that a true statement or was it something you were trying to put out in the public?

JA: We're going to court. I'm automatically free from him because he has breached the contract in so many ways, but I have to go to court to make it public and so I can go work with other promoters.

DK: So what is your promotional contract status right now?

JA: Yeah, I'm not allowed to talk about that one right now, so that's all I can say.

DK: I understand. How soon are you looking to get back into the ring?

JA: I'm in training very hard to come back, so definitely I'll be back before the end of the year, and definitely before the end of November.

DK: Have you spoken with any other promotional companies recently about potentially signing with them? Can you say who they are if you have spoken with anyone?

JA: I have a few promoters who feel that I'm one of the best and these are the top promoters. I'm not allowed to mention the companies' names for now, but after everything is solved, I'm going to sign with one of them.

DK: Joseph, I appreciate you taking the time to speak with us? Do you have anything else you would like to say?

JA: Um, yeah. I'm looking forward to the future back in the ring. I'm looking to get back in the ring with Mares again, (Guillermo) Rigondeaux, (Nonito) Donaire, Anselmo Moreno, and every one of those top guys. Once I get back in the ring, I'm definitely looking to get in the ring with one of them. Please follow me on Twitter P @prokopis ong4real and expect to see me back in there very soon.

Golden Boy needs to take chances with Adrien Broner
August 19th, 2012

By Allan Fox: Golden Boy Promotions needs to push their fighter former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) by moving up to the light welterweight or welterweight divisions so that Broner can finally start fighting opposition that the boxing public actually cares about.

If Golden Boy is truly interested in making Broner a fighter that could be the next Floyd Mayweather Jr, then they’re going to have to challenge him by putting him in with the best fighters at light welterweight and welterweight. Mayweather was already fighting top fighters by the time he was 23, and he wasn’t wasting his time against guys that no one cared about like Broner has been doing lately.

Broner has already shown that he’s a welterweight in weight in his last fight in beating Vicente Escobedo while weighing 146 lbs, so he’s ready to at least move up to light welterweight division if not the welterweight division to start seeking out important fights that can help make him a star.

I’d like to see Broner fighting some of these guys in the next year:

Danny Garcia
Lucas Matthysse
Mike Alvarado
Lamont Peterson
Zab Judah
Amir Khan
Ajose Olusegun
Victor Ortiz
Mike Jones
Randall Bailey
Devon Alexander
Paulie Malignaggi
Manny Pacquiao
Kell Brook
Jessie Vargas
Josesito Lopez
Robert Guerrero

Anyone of those guys would be perfect for Broner right now to prove to boxing fans that he’s for real. He’s not going to be able to prove anything fighting at lightweight where he’ll likely have big problems trying to get the top fighters to take him on.

Since he’s not going to have fighters volunteering to take him on, Broner is going to have to be open to moving up in weight to light welterweight and welterweight in order to get the biggest fights possible. Broner matched up well with guys like Guerrero, Brook and Ortiz at welterweight. I can see him knocking all three of them out.

Mayweather Sr: What Amir Khan is learning from Freddie Roach is a joke
August 19th, 2012

By William Mackay: Trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. feels that former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-3, 18 KO’s) is wasting his time with trainer Freddie Roach, and would be better off dumping him and going with with someone else for the job. Mayweather Sr. says he’d take over the training if Khan is interested.

Speaking with Checkhookboxing.com, Mayweather Sr said “[Khan] needs a change…because what he he is doing right now. it’s a joke. An that’s because Freddie Roach is in control.”

Khan has lost his last two fights, and he’s been knocked already twice as a pro. Khan left a previous trainer after getting knocked out in the 1st round by Breidis Prescott in 2008. Khan signed on Roach hoping it would turn his career around. It did for a while, although Khan really didn’t beat anyone particularly dangerous with the exception of Marcos Maidana in 2010, and there are a lot of boxing fans who felt that Khan would have been knocked out in that fight if it weren’t for the referee breaking the action when Khan was getting pummeled in the 10th.

Mayweather Sr continued “I could help him…if he wants to learn how to fight, learn defense, come see me. One call that’s all.”

It’s doubtful that Khan will make that call, however. Khan still hasn’t dumped Roach, and it could be that he’ll stick it out with Roach to see if things improve any. It’s easy to see why Khan might want to stay with Roach. His wildcard gym in Los Angeles is packed with popular fighters and celebrities, and Khan gets to spar with some of the top fighters in the game by being there. However, something isn’t working with the Khan-Roach team, whether that be Khan failing to follow Roach’s instructions during fights or Khan not being given the training know how that he needs. Who knows? Perhaps Khan has been taught the right things by Roach in how to defense himself, but he’s not able to apply it in his fights.

It would be interesting to see how Mayweather Sr and Khan would work out. I can’t see Khan being able to learn to defend himself enough to keep from getting knocked out again. Can you imagine seeing Khan use the shoulder roll? I can see a right hand sailing over that shoulder and landing clean to Khan’s head every time.

It might be too late in the game for Khan to learn from Mayweather Sr. Fighters need to start early with a trainer to grasp the things they’re to teach them. If you look at Khan’s fighting style, he looks like the same fighter he was when he first started training with Roach. It’s almost as if Khan hasn’t changed any part of his game even after three years with Roach.

James Kirkland Fires Ann Wolfe (again?!)

"When I fought Carlos Molina I was offered two black pills in the fight. They said 'Kirkland, take these 2 black pills.' I took them because you're thinking that your coach and your manager got your best interests at heart. As soon as I took those pills, maybe 10 minutes into preparing for that fight, I felt like I was high as a kite...I was so delirious and so messed up that I couldn't even put forth any effort into pressing because my timing was off, my equilibrium was off, my movement is off pace. I couldn't perform like I needed to perform...After all that hard work of pressing and pressing I either sweat that stuff out or it worked through my system. Then, I was able to punch the way I can punch and boom, I dropped him."

"I don't know if everybody knows, but I fired everybody in my team just recently," Kirkland said. Aside from the drugging accusations, the fighter claimed that his people just didn't seem to have his best interests at heart. Kirkland did leave the door open to working with trainer Ann Wolfe, though, but said that he wouldn't sign any binding contract with her.
