Have you even seen any of the Pacquiao-Marquez fights Tony?

Marquez is a stylistic nightmare for Manny, and he would give him a tougher fight than just about anyone out there.

Again, you're a fool if you think Bradley is a tougher fight. It all boils down to being a less marketable fight, seeing as the majority of the population didn't even think the first fight was remotely close.

You are among the 5% who actually feel Bradley won, but I get a sense that just comes from your inner Manny-hater, rather than what you actually saw.

I personally want to see the Bradley rematch, because I would like to see a motivated Pacquiao go in and do what he should have, and could have IMO, in the first fight. I felt like he let Bradley off the hook, and I'm not sure if it was him being over confident, or if he really is on the decline.

I also wouldn't mind seeing the Cotto fight again, even at 150. Those who are crying that Pacquiao should fight Cotto at 154 should remember that Pacquiao likely couldn't get up to 150 if he wanted to. Cotto would still be cutting weight, and he's actually pretty small at 154.
Manny weighted in at 148lb on fight night his last fight. Mayweather fought Cotto at 151lb. I'm sick of people acting like Manny is so small, he's the same damn size as Mayweather. He can fight Cotto at 154lb and just like Mayweather he doesn't have to weight in at 154lb. A healthy Bradley with superfight experience now would beat Manny clearer the second time around. Marquez is 40 yrs old I don't want to see a fourth fight just to make Manny look good.

Schaefer wants to put together Guerrero vs. Mayweather bout
August 15th, 2012

By Chris Williams: Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer says he’s going to try and put together a fight between his Golden Boy promoted fighter WBC welterweight interim champion Robert Guerrero (30-1-1, 18 KO’s) and unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) in the coming months.

Schaefer told RingTV “The dream fight for him [Guerrero] is a fight against Floyd Mayweather, and so on. We’ll see in the coming weeks and months what’s going to happen there.”

Guerrero, 29, has wanted a fight against Mayweather in the worst way for well over a year now since he was fighting at lightweight, and despite the fact that Guerrero looked less than impressive in struggling to beat the highly rated Selcuk Aydin last month, he still feels he’s deserving of a fight against Floyd.

Schaefer has his work cut out for him in trying to put together a fight between Guerrero and Mayweather, because there’s not a whole of interest in that fight. Guerrero doesn’t have a lot of boxing fans and he doesn’t bring in big ratings for HBO. It would obviously be a situation where it would greatly benefit Golden Boy if Mayweather did decide to do them a favor in facing Guerrero, but it might be a mistake on Mayweather’s part if he took that fight because the pay per view numbers would likely be less than spectacular.

Schaefer could help things out if he matched Guerrero against some other welterweights in the division, preferably ones that can actually fight and who aren’t just someone that the World Boxing Council gave an inflated ranking to. If Guerrero could beat someone like Thomas Dulorme, Devon Alexander or Kell Brook, he’d really help himself out. However, it might take wins over all three of those guys for Guerrero to build up enough interest for Mayweather to bother fighting him.

The problem here is that Guerrero would be lucky if he could beat even one of those guys. He doesn’t have any power at welterweight and his stamina isn’t good either. If you put him in with stronger punchers like Alexander, Dulorme and Brook, Guerrero is going to take some awful punishment and if he runs out of gas like he did against Aydin, he’ll get knocked out. He’ll likely get knocked out anyway, but he’d definitely get knocked out if he fades late against one of those guys.

Schaefer needs to build Guerrero up before he can fight someone like Mayweather. Right now it would be a joke of a fight because of how awful and mediocre Guerrero looked last time he fought. If he was smart, he’d move back down in weight because I see Guerrero losing to the first good welterweight he fights, and I don’t consider Aydin a good welterweight. He’s a fair one.

De La Hoya very impressed with Deontay Wilder, says he reminds him of Hearns
August 16th, 2012

By Scott Gilfoid: Oscar De La Hoya is really impressed with what he’s seen of unbeaten American heavyweight Deontay Wilder (24-0, 24 KO’s) in the four short years that Wilder has been in the pro game, and De La Hoya sees him as a future world champion within a short period of time.

De La Hoya said to RingTV “I’m telling you this guy reminds me of a heavyweight Thomas Hearns. I mean, he cracks you with that right hand and it’s over. And the way he’s popping his jab. This guy is popping his jab out like he’s a lightweight.”

So true, so true. Wilder’s right hand power does remind me of a heavyweight version of Hearns. For boxing fans who don’t have much of a memory of Hearns’ one punch power when he fought at welterweight, I’d suggest you take a look at some of Hearns’ old fights on Youtube so that you all can see how awesome Hearns’ power was when he was fighting at that weight. Wilder is the heavyweight equivalent with his huge right and his incredible athleticism. Where Wilder and Hearns differ is in the chin department. Wilder has a nice chin and has yet to be hurt at the pro level. He can take a good shot and keep coming forward. Wilder’s chin will likely never be a problem for him because his power is so good that he destroys pretty much all of his opposition inside four rounds. It’s rare that anyone gets to the 4th round against Wilder because of his concussive power in his right hand.

In his last fight, Wilder destroyed Kertson Manswell in the 1st round earlier this month. Wilder used both his right and his left hand to blast out Manswell in short order, making it look easy against this fine fighter. Believe me, Manswell is a good fighter with a solid chin, but Wilder still destroyed him and made it look easy

Yes, I've seen all the Marquez vs Manny Pacquiao "wars" not fights. By far he has been his toughest opponent but at this point in his (Marquez's) career, it's over. One win over Pacquiao does nothing, and would only hurt Pacquiao's legacy should he lose to Marquez (then we can really forget about the Mayweather fight). Pacquiao holds a 2-0-1 record against him, so why would Pacquiao fight someone that he has already beatin' twice? Another win versus Marquez does nothing since he already holds two victories over him. Now they want him to beat him again? Waste of money....

I'm not a fool and I'm not a Manny hater. Just because I scored the fight 7-5 in Bradley's favor doesn't mean I'm a Manny hater. I, like the two judges who scored it in Bradley's favor, wasn't impressed by Manny's wild swinging flurries, most of the punches didn't land. Bradley's ability to slip most of the punches and counter is what won him the fight. Especially winning the final 2 rounds, since I had it a draw going into the 11th.

I personally would rather see the Bradley rematch too, I think it would draw bigger numbers than fighting Marquez again. I'm not interested in seeing them fight again for the 4th time just to get the same result. That makes me (the "so called" Manny hater) and you (the Manny lover) want to see the Bradley rematch? So how does that makes this fight less marketable? It should make it more marketable if anything since it's rematch following a controversial decision.

Bingo!!

I think most of us would rather see the rematch. Pacquiao should avenge his loss.... I'd probably pay for that one (Bradley vs Pacquiao rematch), I'm not paying to see Pacquiao edge out another close fight over Marquez or I don't want to see Marquez turn old in the ring and get the crap beat of him. It would be a waste of money. Bradley was screaming rematch from a wheelchair. Paquiao probably feels like he got robbed. Do it again or is it too risky? Bradley is still young, has reflexes, isn't weight drained..... he may be too lively of an opponent. Bradley already beat him once.... what would it look like if Pacquiao lost to Bradley again? lol.... too risky. Bradley is the champ and is confident. He's already fought and beatin Manny once. He knows he can take and or slip his punches. They don't want to see Bradley.

lol this is comedy. only on the siccness will u find discussions like this.

Marquez's age has not been a factor in any of his fights so its silly to assume it would be now. that's like those who discounted 41 year old bernard hopkins when he moved up to fight tarver because he was "too old". physically, JMM was a beast in his last fight against Pac, I see no reason why it would be much different.

further only on the siccness will you see anyone who honestly believes bradley beat pac. its a way easier fight stylistically for Pacquiao. like I said earlier if the fight doesn't happen its about ppv sales. pac bradley rematch may do under a million again whereas Pac jmm will do big numbers again. personally I don't care about any of that but that's the reality of the sport.

Marquez is 40 yrs old and he hasn't fought in a year. Manny didn't do shit against Bradley that's why he lost the fight on two of the judges scorecards. Manny vs. Marquuez 4 is not going to do big numbers at all maybe a million PPV buys if Top Rank is luck. So stop it with your lame ass excuses for Manny fighting a old men and little guys. Manny refuses to fight anyone his own size without a catchweight. Manny better fight Mayweather soon or he won't have anymore fans other then u and Skip Bayless.

I'm not saying Bradley is an easy fight, but marquez beat Pac last fight while bradley lost...regardless of the judges.
The fact that the so-called number 1 p4p fighter in boxing got out boxed by a 40 yr old 135lber and he got his belt took by a handicapped 140lber is pure comedy. When will Manny fight someone his own size without a catchweight should be the question everyone is asking???

He fought four months ago cuntface and he's not 40.

We already went over this. If we went by the judges scorecards Bam Bam Rios schooled Abril, Paul Williams beat down Lara and Shannon Briggs beat George Foreman. :dead:

Manny vs. Marquuez 4 is not going to do big numbers at all maybe a million PPV buys if Top Rank is luck.
JMM vs Pac 3 did 1.41 million buys and did astronomical numbers in Mexico.

Bradley vs Pac did under 1 million buys. (900,000 or possibly less?)

So stop it with your lame ass excuses for Manny fighting a old men and little guys.
Excuses? Quit with that nonsense I don't want to see another JMM fight. I want a bradley rematch so Pac can get the belt that was stolen from him. My argument, which is pretty simply but obviously too hard for your little brain to comprehend is that JMM is a tougher fight stylistically for Pac than Bradley. Everyone knows this but you and tony it seems.

I like how Marquez keeps getting older every time you post. He's 38 years old now, which is 1 year older than Sergio Martinez.

Or if we go by your logic, Pac easily won on two of the judges scorecards so he obviously won the fight (the man who likes to bring up double standards has plenty of his own double standards).

I don't know anyone saying manny is #1 p4p and if they are its foolish. And if marquez vs manny does a million ppvs, that's a lot in my book. Not gonna break records but people's pockets will get fatter. A Bradley rematch would do decent too. Regardless of skill and whether its deminishing, manny is still feeding fighters by fighting them just like mayweather. Can't deny that.

I actually dont think Manny/Marquez 4 would do big numbers. I think people are tired of seeing Marquez fight this dude and gets denied a win each time. The fight is pointless as Marquez beat him 3 times in my book already. Got Em!!

pretty dope.

The World Boxing Council has approved a fight
between Xiong Zhao Zhong (19-4-1, 11KOs)
against Javier Martinez (13-3-2, 6KOs) for the
vacant WBC minimumweight title on October
27th in Kunming, China. WBC president Jose
Sulaiman is happy to be a part of what the
sanctioning body is calling a history making
match, with the first world championship fight
to take place in China. Zhong won a unanimous
decision over Mexico's Osvaldo Reason on June
16th to capture the WBC silver title.
Martinez scored a fifth round knockout over
countryman Ulysses Lara to win the WBC's silver
International crown on April 7 in Cuautla,
Morelos, Mexico.
