HOF right now? No.

But name a better QB in the first 5 years of his career. (Just don't mention Tom Brady's name because I don't like discussing him.)

He doesn't have the stats (he did set the Steelers TD record last year) but I think he doesn't have the stats because he doesn't play "normal football".

But lets break down his first 5 years:

Year 1: 15-1 record for the Steelers. UNDEFEATED record by Roethlisberger. The loss was by Maddox.

Year 2: Superbowl win. Even if you have a problem with how the game was reffed, he still fucking got there.

Year 3: Freak motorcycle accident. Didn't die. You all would have.

Year 4: Sets Steelers TD record.

Year 5: Won another Superbowl. Hardest schedule in the history of football.

51 wins, 2 Superbowls. Name your favorite quarterback. He didn't do that.

Granted, the defense makes his job a shitload easier. But nobody scrambles like him on a broken down play. And his win-loss record against NFC teams, Ohio teams, etc. is pretty nuts. He doesn't put up stats, he wins games, period. Plus, give him some credit playing behind that O-line.
Props for breaking the shit down!!!

i dont even think Big Ben is in the top five Qb's in the league. His first championship was won with defense and the running game...Even this season, when parker wasnt healthy he looked lost. but as soon as the running game goes, he does well. Im not saying this to disrespect but i think its fact....I do think that his ability to extend plays and scramble out of sacks won this years superbowl. he is a good quarterback with a long career ahead of him, but no great yet.

Yea props on breakin it down and PROVING hes not NEAR hall of fame bound. Its not like Ben got those accomplishments by himself. You obviously dont know football. The QB DOES NOT win the game for you. Its the 10 around him and the 11 on the other side of the ball for them and the 11 on all special teams. Jus because they winning and playin good football doesnt mean anything towards Bens stats(which DONT stand out)

Be real! Just cuz he's on your team dont make him great.

Jealous Ass Bitch!

Your just another jealous ass, loser mentality hater! I've been involved with football most of my life, especially coaching recently. Your the motherfucker that obviously doesn't know football, bitch made blade! We all know football is a team sport dumbfuck. Montana, Brady, Elway, Moon, etc. didn't do it all by themselves either! A good number of Hall Of Fame QB's had great Defenses, Special Teams and offensive players around them. You square ass stat nerds never do get it either. Ben does many things that don't show in the statistics which I've stated in my past posts. Dumb bastards like yourself always wanted to argue with me about Bradshaw's statistics too! Get it through your head... Ben is a winner and finds ways to pull off victories when it matters most. The result so far in his young career = 2 Championship Rings!!! Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly, etc. can't ever say that, LMFAO!!!:classic:

If Homo played in Pitts, he would have 2 rings already too
This is what people don't seem to understand. You can place a number of decent QBs on that team and they probably would have won those two rings as well. The defense is what's winning games. You can't just place ANYBODY there and expect success, however. But what I'm getting at is they don't need a Hall-Of-Fame caliber QB to win, just a decent QB. Big Ben is getting way too much credit for the team's success - especially since the defense is far more responsible for it than Roethlisburger is.

Have Big Ben trade places with Peyton Manning, who never really has a good defense, and he would have no rings right now. Peyton Manning is the main reason the Colts win games and that's why he'll be in the Hall Of Fame, the defense is the main reason the Steelers win games and that should not be a reason to place Ben Roethlisburger in the Hall.

When we had the same defense with Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox, we didn't win any Superbowls. Roethlisberger shows up and gets added to the mix, and that's what it took for us to get over the top. I'm not saying he's Hall of Fame yet, but he was the x factor.

You obviously took what i said to heart. Dont cry on your Ben jersey. That had nothing to do with bein jealous of your team. I got my team and stay with em. Just cuz they MY team you dont hear me sayin players are hall of fame bound. Except Tony G cuz HIS STATS are #1. Hall of Fame is based on stats not wins. Sorry to burst your bubble.

bib ben's job is to not give up the ball and throw like 20 times a game and let the team to the rest. and he does it well and he won 2 championships on the way but no were near the hall at this time
That was Big Ben's job in 2005. No disrespect, but anybody who watched the Steelers would know that in the past two years Bruce Arians has opened up the passing game and put all of the pressure on Roethlisberger. Plus, we don't have a running game anymore. Any offensive production we got this year was from Roethlisberger, not the running game.

Like I said, I don't think he's HOF. But most of the arguments I hear seem like re-hashed arguments from 05-06. Nobody has taken the time to watch Roethlisberger progress and form a new opinion on him. They just spout the same bullshit that they hear on ESPN.

When we had the same defense with Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox
Well Big Ben >>>> Stewart and Maddox, but that doesn't say too much. I actually like Roethlisburger. I've liked him since his rookie year when he took over and won 15 games. I just don't think he deserves all the credit he is getting.

Also there are other factors in the Steelers not winning with Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox. Maybe they simply were not as good as another team. You don't know if Big Ben would have won those years, either. It goes both ways.

Big Ben is going to the hall of fame whether y'all like it or not. His defense didn't win him either SuperBowl. The refs won the first one and the second one he won on that last drive. Big Ben keeps plays alive and has a lot to do with the 2 championship rings the Steelers have now. Quit trying to take away credit. If he was on the 49ers and the 49ers won 2 SB's you Niners fans would be drooling all over his hall of fame status.

I'm not a Steeler groupie... actually I was pulling for the Cards. But you gotta give credit where credit is due.... that drive will be remembered forever... and when his name comes up for the Hall of Fame, you'll see that replay over and over.

its way to early for ben...he has been good at times and looked terrible others...

ben should get credit for that drive during the SB, no doubt....if he doesnt play another snap in the nfl he WONT make it in...that drive wasnt enough....although the cards d stepped it up threw most of the playoffs they were still the same players that gave up 47 to the pats at the end of the season...

cards d got exposed that last drive...DRC gave up big plays all game, just like he did in the regular season...he and his teamates stepped it up to get em to the SB....but failed when it came to the big game...
