^^^^^i used to do the same thing, and back then after i dubbed it on a tape and listened to it for a while i would go to Tower Records and buy the tape or cd because it was dope and i already previewed it on a dubbed tape and knew it was quality.....back then rappers actually made quality shit with dope ass beats and not wack shit like they make these days.

Yes! Prime example of how it used to be. I did that with many albums back in the day. This is one of many...

And to be honest, it's still tight to me today.

how is that hating? you expect everyone to go and buy that album and say its tight?
people are entitled to there opinions, if you dont like something then state what you dont like constructively and move on. When you go out of your way to down play something with "shit is wack" with 0 explanation of why you think it is... then its hating in my opinion.

you might want to read the post again.

It takes $ to make the music..you know that right ? You act like everything is taken care of and the artist can make music freely lol. You can ivolve love all you want into music...with out $ it goes nowhere, you have alot to learn about creating a musical product.
Thing is most rappers have no talent at all or are just hustlers trying to make money of rap and by rapping about the usual stuff and selling little childeren fake gangster characters (yes their better in acting that rapping) and glorifying their "fake" lifestyles......these rappers have zero creativity or talent, or even a own style and when I usually listen to that shit I can feel my brains dumbing down....in other words...good rap is very rare these days because 90% just seem to make music for $$$...

I feel artist, producers, writers and everybody else who is apart of a project pain. however this a continuous battle of a losing war, you will NEVER stop the process of bootlegging. It just drives it deeper underground to a more private network with invites only from reputable individuals. The way I view it is we need to figure out a more innovative way to deal with it because it's not going to stop unfortunately.

I feel you homie..I definitely am in this shit for the love..thats with out a doubt, other wise I would have just stopped years ago. I know Im good at what I do so it makes it that much more better that I can also make a living off of what I love. Im not caked up and balling lol, but im living comfortable doing what I love.

people who would download a good cd & not copp it are gonna find away to not pay for their music anyway. they'll find it somewhere. me personally, if i download something & like it, i'm buying it. but if i dont know the artists well, & cant download the cd to test it out, i'm not spending a dime on it.

for example, i dont know your music enough to care enough to buy it. if i could DL a cd, i might buy it.

Agreed. But guys like you and I are still fighting a war that was won years ago. I appreciate every single person that has ever bought one of our projects, I have yet to have someone come back and say it wasn't up to par or quality...but unfortunately long gone are the days where owning the real cd matters. I was from a time where I was just as excited to see the artwork and credits as I was to hear the album. The other sad part is that the people who ask us to keep doing projects are the ones who buy it but as Tay said, it just doesn't make ANY sense to dump real money into quality projects when you know you're just going to take a loss.
