There is no way that every black man in America is going to come to a realization that these leaders are in some way faulty (not my interpretation) or misguiding. These guys (who you just named) are highly respected by the majority of African Americans in this country, at least from my own expierences in talking with them. Actually, it more than likely does mean he was doped up. You began your theory nicely, weed does take time to leave the system, but who said anything about weed? Even if they reported weed in his system, clearly that is not the type of mind altering drug that would convince a man to attack police officers in a city where death amongst black people by cops is sky high. It was reported that he was on:
1. COCAINE: Leaves system in 1-2 days.
2. PCP: Leaves system in 1-8 days.
3. Methanol: [?]
So with that knowledge we look at the footage and one can only assume that after reading about what was in this guys system, he was more than likely on it at that moment. If you have taken any classes on drugs you will find that PCP will increase a mans anger/frustration significantly and commonly cause outbursts, coincidence if you ask some. While we can't be 100% certain, the truth would be highly favored to the notion that he was "doped up". Anyone can make 20 statements questioning the "truth" but unless you have evidence to prove otherwise, it's just mumbo jumbo if you will.

From every broadcats of this incident that I have seen, those were only the concluding words of the reporter, making up for about 3 seconds of the story. It would have made up for a nice contraversy had the media talked about how evil he was for 5 minutes straight.

In your OPINION the tape showed that the cops acted properly. In the eyes of others it may be a different story. Why would the cops turn the tape over to the media? Do cops turn over all the arrest/death scene material they record? Are you implying that the cops wanted to get this footage to the public so they could have a clear name????? Do cops turn over all the footage they get when they act properly? If not why turn over THIS particular piece of footage?
I don't like answering for other people, but I can't wait for him to come on here, and I already know exactly what he's going to say. Once everything was done, all that was left was a bunch of white cops standing over a dead body. Your average person, givin the history of the city, would find it very hard to believe a group of white cops when they try to justify the incident. So what better way to help people understand the situation, than to provide a video tape of what really happened.
It's either the media talks about what they heard, a black man getting beaten to death by a white cops for unknown reasons.
Or the cops provide a tape to the media so they can air it and show why they went to great lengths to subdue him.

Was it the BLACK officer that arrived on the scene that gave him the final beating that killed him? He must have supervised it, I don't see a black cop leaving another black man who has just been nearly beaten to death by white cops (sure it's happened before, right.--doesn't matter either way).
Did this victim shoot 5 people before he got to the scene?
Maybe the coronor wasn't the smartest guy in the world as he skipped over evidence showing the man also had crack and LSD in his system.
Maybe after the tape was off, the black man got back up and tried to fight them again, going for their gun this time. If the media is as untruthful as you guys say they are, editing out the parts that would justify the mans death would make for a shitload of television viewers.
Maybe nothing happened after the death, therefore leaving no reason for i-net companies to leave minutes of streaming video showing absolutely nothing, saving bandwidth.
Maybe the guy was a racist black man, who felt it was neccessary to yell out racial slurs towards police officers. Maybe then he started swinging at the officers; perhaps he continued his struggle resisting arrest and trying to assault the police even further. Maybe he tried to grab the weapon the cops were using. Maybe, just maybe he was on drugs at the time.
