For me it's really the first game to let you fly in space, and on a planet, and walk around in first person and all this with no real loading screens. That is a big accomplishment IMO. This game can always be improved with new content, and even community mods. This game is the base of a limitless masterpiece in the right hands.

It can always be improved but the problem is the CEO of the company is always lying or being vague as fuck. In addition, it takes time to improve and make shit and the people who paid and brought into the hype, based on trailers that show shit that isn't even in the game, will not sit by and just wait.

But if you are having fun more power to you. I said this would be a YMMV type of game, but I didn't buy into the hype and pretty much knew the game would be shit. Just check my responses int his thread.

I agree with everything you said except for one thing. I think the game as it stands is above average. It isn't for everybody, and overpriced but so is Tom Clancy's The Division:dead:. I enjoy a single player sandbox experience.

Right now for PC a mod I just installed disables the surface avoidance system which allows me to fly as low to the ground as possible, and even through canyons or under floating islands.

That's a cool mod. Makes you wonder why it's not like that by default, must be some potential problems hopefully they add that feature in an update.

If I purchase the game or didn't purchase it that doesn't detract from the fact Sean Murray is a liar. These companies need to stop lying. So if it's bitching, whining, etc it's nothing when compared to lying to paying customers.

And why would I buy the game? Before the game was released I watched vid after vid of Sean Murray giving his stupid little laugh, looking down when asked questions, etc. You trust people like that? I don't. And then the vague ass answers he was giving? Hell nah I wouldn't buy it. When it's patched out the ass and maybe a black friday deal for $15.

A week before the game was released I took to their official sub on reddit, made a thread, warned people that Eidos Montreal and Square Enix have a history of false advertising and Lying. I told them about what happened with Deus Ex Human Revolution: The Director's Cut and how they advertised Smart Glass and never came with it and how they promised a patch for everyone else who had game breaking bugs but never delivered it. So I warned the people of reddit to purchase at their own risk.

So I was downvoted into oblivion. Ok no sweat. Then the game releases and Eidos Montreal and Square Enix do some really shady shit. They false advertised the DLC stuff and even changed the name of some of the DLC, DAY ONE, in attempts to make it seem like they didn't false advertise. That thread I made? I linked people too it and all those downvotes I had turned to upvotes.

Now, is the game good? I haven't touched it yet as I will purchase it used so EM and SE see no money from me. You can play the game without playing the previous version as there is a 12 minute "catch up" at the beginning of the game or in the options screen, I forgot which one. They also put it on youtube so you won't have any problem. The game doesn't allow you to import your saves as the two games are on different platforms so don't worry about it.

Would I play it? Absolutely and the reviews have been good as well.

or to say that the game is a disappointment based on expectations.
but if people like it, then its all good too. I just thought the game was going to be like star trek. going to new planets, going to war with other aliens, forming alliances etc. just seems like aimless space travel with hopes of landing on a planet with some fun on it. imo of course.
but i guess my opinion dont count either, i dont even have a ps4 lol
waiting for a game to make me run out and get one, havent seen one yet. thought no mans sky was going to be it.
