great points, I had to post this vid

GOLOVKIN TURNS DOWN ERISLANDY LARA FIGHT. ARE YOU SERIOUS???

I am not gonna even waste time listening to this and will strictly go by the title of the pist.

Who cares?

Is Lara the #1 contender for any title that GGG holds?

Is Lara in the top 4 p4p ratings for the division?

If the answer to these questions is no why the talk about Lara and GGG?

I think if HBO really wanted to, they could make that fight. Golovkin is tied to HBO, but has also fought off of the network too. If he said, hey, I really want to fight this guy and they say no, isn't he free to fight wherever he wants? They are not his promoter and can't make him fight on the network, I think they simply have the first option on the fights he chooses to make if I'm not mistaken but I could be wrong.

Sure, they could do that next year. HBO has three Golovkin fights in 2014, starting in April, those are under contract with HBO. So they could fight in, say, Monte Carlo or whatever in 2015 without a network (hardly any money).

How was he able to fight his last fight without being on HBO then? I thought about it after I posted that though and I'm sure there's some exclusive language in there but I think network deals are as stupid as promotional beefs. The fighter should be able to say, I don't want to fight Andy Lee because the fight sucks. Let me fight Lara and earn some damn respect.

HBO had the right to his tune upoverseas as well but they ended up passing on the Adama fight because of the time delay and there was no HBO fight later that evening to replay it on.

Anyways, Golovkin has an HBO contract on April 26th. If Golovkin wants another tune up after that but before his next HBO date in September overseas and Lara is willing to fight for about $50,000 with no network good luck with that. The man behind Lara's twitter is his manager, DeCubas jr., not Lara. His goal is to make him money, thus the recent calling out of Mayweather, GGG, Canelo, Andrade and other guys. I highly doubt Al Haymon and DeCubas would want Lara fighting a MW overseas with no network backing for peanuts. They didn't even send an offer to team GGG, all DeCubas said was have HBO send Al Haymon an offer.

Kevin Iole told me that the reason HBO didn't show the fight is because the venue only held 900 people, and they wouldn't even allow HBO a table for the announcers. Also, they couldn't get an HD feed from that site which HBO is really big on so they passed. All good reasons for HBO not to show it, but I hated the way Dan Rafael bitched and moaned about that.

I'm sure there were technical issues as well but the revune capacity wasn't an issue they had royality front row Prince Albert, Princess Charlene of Monaco, Marvin Hagler, etc I'm sure the HBO camera's would have loved showing those faces.

Also I think the card itself HBO wanted...originally it was Golovkin vs Geale as the main even,.then GGG vs Murray, both those guys pulled out, Nathan Clevery was on the undercard and pulled out, Martin Murray was then to be on the undercard and pulled out, nd another fight was canceled so it started out as a nice card but ended up pretty weak. Wasn't worth all the trouble to showcase a stay busy fight.

PACQUIAO, BRADLEY TO UNDERGO WADA OLYMPIC-STYLE TESTING

February 14, 2014

According to Yahoo! Sports, promoter Bob Arum is footing a $35,000 bill to pay for World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) testing of Manny Paacquiao and Timothy Bradley, who fight each other in Las Vegas on April 12th. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has long blamed Pacquiao's supposed refusal to undergo testing as one of the reasons why Mayweather refuses to fight Pacquaio. The report states that both Pacquai and Bradlet are subject to random, unannounced tests right up to the day of the fight. -Scott Shaffer

I'm sure they would've loved showing them too. But if there's royalty in the first row, it's gonna be pretty damn hard to push people out of those seats to make room for a table lol Not sure but Monaco has to be a really affluent area I would think. It sounds like HBO needed to make more effort than it was worth than people were willing to concede anything for HBO to make it work for them
