Like ballhog wise? So are alot of players *cough* AI *cough*, but I dont see anyone constantly hatin on him.
That can be said for many people in sports.

No one is denying his skills as a player. The reason why people don't like him is his demeanour on and off the court. He just comes off as an arrogant, spoiled little brat and a complete asshole. Jordan, for example, was the best player in the history of NBA and the majority of people didn't hate him (unless your team was playing against him) and to this day remains very popular. The reason is because he had a likable personality. Same goes for Shaq and others alike. You come off like an asshole, people will hate you. You're funny and likable like Shaq, Jordan, people will love you.

The argument of "hating because of success" falls flat because of people like Jordan, Shaq, Bird, Magic Johnson, etc., all whom were successful and are all very liked by the public.
