But nah, it's only entertainment. lol.

This cat was treated like he was supposed to be treated. And now he goes on instagram? Why not handle it right then and there?.
Because he's 5 foot nothing and 80 pounds. Slim Jesus is an understatement. Looks more like Terminally Ill Cancer Patient Jesus.

Man, tough month for fraudulent white rappers. Seriously though, these guys need a different angle if they aren't really about what their rapping about, or at least even a little bit about it. Like do the whole funny but got rhymes white boy angle, that always seems to work well lol and has been since the Beastie Boys really, no need for all of this, looks so bad.

This kid explained why it was more important to him to be honest about this fictitious shit and tell it how it is rather than lie defending it. I'm the last person to defend him, but people are taking this way out of proportion. Rap is not defined by authenticity or truth in your lyrics or how "bout it" you are. You're free to express yourself however the fuck you want -no barriers- be that fake or not. Alonzo said Ice Cube was a sweet kid, yet he is this glorified gangsta rapper for nearly 3 decades.

You have people dying over street shit everyday. You have talented people not getting their shot. So when people see Small Jesus or whatever his name is, they are going to look and say: "Man niggas is dying for the shit he rappin about, he ain't even with the shit and he's makin all this money? He's gettin put on? Fuck this shit." In ANY field, if you put a certain image out there, people are going to test you. I'm not saying they will test you by means of violence but they will test you based on your profession/doing and the environment. I'm sorry but this cat was supposed to get his mic took. In fact, more should have happened and more will happen because he's proven that he's a victim and can be preyed on.

Yes, you're free to express yourself however you choose but there are repercussions to doing so. If you are saying certain shit, be prepared for what comes your way, especially if you are saying some violent shit, niggas have died for this shit and cats tryin to feed their families and keep the lights on with rap.

As for Cube, well he earned his stripes a bit after the beating ATL gave him so it's whatever. Small Jesus? Not so much.

Again, when shit hits the fan it's "it's only entertainment." Well it's not only entertainment to niggas in the streets and cats trying to come up off music.

Thats actually exactly how many rap fans feel. Its what makes this genre so unique: you are defined by what you say and when and if you are found fraudulent, it could end your career.

Good. This needs to happen more often. And every artist whoever put in work, took penitentiary chances or made sacrifice to even make an album, should do this type of shit more often. And if it wasn't for a lot of these bitch ass music fans, supporting the fuckery in the first place, the music industry wouldn't be in such a bad shape and more artists would be eating.
No. Look at the shit he is rapping about. People want to rap about certain shit but when shit hits the fan, hands get placed and bullets start flying, then you see the "it's only entertainment" crowd coming out and defending the person who got what they deserved.

Props to the cat who snatched the mic. May he run for president and be protected from ISIL.
90%+ of people's favorite "gangster" rappers have been "it's only entertainment" since the start of the genre. "Bitch ass music fans" have been supporting fake gangsters making gangster music since the 80's. Explain how this is all of a sudden hurting rappers "eating"?

Ice Cube came from the suburbs and was even going to Technical College in Phoenix, Arizona at the height of NWA's popularity, why don't he ever get flack?

You could name a who's who of "gangster" rappers who never took penitentiary chances and it never stopped "real artists" from eating before.

I don't think a skinny white kid on youtube is stopping real artists from eating. If that real artist was good enough, they wouldn't have a problem.

This whole mic snatch incident was retarded and so is everybody that is cheerleading it. Not saying this guy's music is worth a damn, but at least Slim Jesus owns up to the fact that in real life he's not the person that he makes himself out to be in his raps. I respect that way more than a dude like Rick Ross.

Who else has this Waka Flocka look-a-like snatched a mic from? Probably nobody. He just bullied Slim Jesus because he's an easy target. If shit like this was done more often with other shitty/fake rappers then it would be different. Plus Slim Jesus is a better rapper than the majority of "drill" rappers but people will never admit that.

^ i kinda agree. as much as i dont really like slim jesus as a rapper ,and i think making drill music while not being aligned with the scene is a little wack, i thought grabbing the mic from a aspiring drill rapper and yelling something about 'real hip hop' was super corny. fuck real hip hop really, hip hop is cool but 'real hip hop' is a oxymoron. anything thats hip hop is 'real' , like even fake hip hop is real hip hop....outside of like......big companies using the culture to make money because its whats cool....but shit, 'real hip hop' (as its currently standing definition) isnt the thing thats making the money right now.

and when i think about it, even sell out shit like major companies using the culture to make money is still kinda hip hop. someone still had the intention of making hip hop, regardless of the end result.if that nigga weird al yakovic makes a song and its end result is hip hop its still hip hop regardless of said cornyness

Who said it was all of a sudden? And it's hurting now because it's a gazillion people doing it and it's less money going around.

Ice Cube came from the suburbs and was even going to Technical College in Phoenix, Arizona at the height of NWA's popularity, why don't he ever get flack?
He does get flack. ATL did what they were supposed to.

You could name a who's who of "gangster" rappers who never took penitentiary chances and it never stopped "real artists" from eating before.
Different times now. Now we're in Mcdonaldized rap times. And those "real artists" already had an established fanbase behind them so it didn't matter.

I don't think a skinny white kid on youtube is stopping real artists from eating. If that real artist was good enough, they wouldn't have a problem.
This statement proves you have absolutely no idea how the music business works. Why do you think so many good rappers had to supplement their income with crime? Look at the Bay Area rap and ask yourself that question.

Get the fake fucks out of here and start robbing their fans.

He is an easy target. Why? Because he raps about shit he ain't about and niggas is gonna test that. It's like some of yall didn't see this coming when you should have seen it a mile away. And truth be told, a lot of BAY RAPPERS are just like Small Jesus.

Less money going around? These viral artists like Slim Jesus are creating their own money, they ain't getting signed by labels and taking spots. Dude went viral on youtube and is booking his own shows, how is that causing less money for a different rapper?

He does get flack. ATL did what they were supposed to.
Ok, and what about the 9 out of 10 other "gangster" rappers who are fakes since the 80's? This is the fakest genre of music that exists, never hurt the "reals" getting put on.

How does this in any way shape or form answer how a skinny white kid on youtube is stopping real artists from eating? Like I stated earlier, Slim Jesus gets youtube revenue off of music video views, ANY rapper can do that. Slim Jesus books his own shows at rap venues with no major label backing based on his youtube views, once again ANY rapper can do that.

Slim Jesus didn't take some roster spot on a major label from "real artist", he's making his money himself. There ain't a rapper out there that had to commit a crime because Slim Jesus got paid from 17 million youtube views lol

Who said anything about getting signed by labels and taking spots? The label is the WORST thing an act would want to do right now, especially since these labels are mostly only offering 360 deals and tend to only give deals now unless you did all the work.

Yes, he is doing everything you said. Why? Because his fans have brought into his brand. His brand is living/behaving like a criminal and selling it. People want to live vicariously through that. The problem is, people who have really put in work or are trying to get put on, or don't know how to create their own ecosystem, see this shit and look on in disbelief.

Who are these fake gangster rappers? Yes it's the fakest genre of music. But it's also the one where you are more likely to get beat up, robbed, shot or killed. You think rock acts have to worry about their shows getting shot up? You think Jazz artists have to worry about another Jazz artist robbing them at gun point? You think country artists have to worry about another country artist knocking them out at a show on GP?

How does this in any way shape or form answer how a skinny white kid on youtube is stopping real artists from eating? Like I stated earlier, Slim Jesus gets youtube revenue off of music video views, ANY rapper can do that. I just explained it and I've been explaining it.

Slim Jesus didn't take some roster spot on a major label from "real artist", he's making his money himself. There ain't a rapper out there that had to commit a crime because Slim Jesus got paid from 17 million youtube views lol
I have said NOTHING about a major label or a label period so stop talking about that. This has nothing to do with a label. PERIOD. This is about FANS buying into an image that a person sold, but then someone else, who didn't buy into that image, chose to say fuck this shit. Again, people have DIED for this shit and when they see someone who has NOT put in work, rappin about the shit they lived, and eating from it, then they too say fuck it and the. They do what needs to be done.

He was prey. This was bound to happen and will continue to happen. Weak people are preyed on until/unless they can pay for enough protection.
