I don't see what the big controversy is.

Emanuel Steward is the most biased commentator I have ever heard. I have never said anything online, but if there is a black fighter against a non black fighter in there...you know who he is praising the whole time.

tough, tough fight. I had cotto winning by two points, although there were a couple rounds that were real tough to score, plus of course the knockdown.

Cotto showed a ton of heart, that cut fucked him up he couldn't see out of that eye for several rounds. Clottey is also a beast, he fought great and could have won but he FADED during the championship rounds, that was the difference in the fight imo. And at the same time, cotto showed a lot of vulnerability in the fight, I honestly felt like he was about to get KO'd a few times.

Also, cotto I don't understand why he let clottey out of the corner so many times. The 6th round I believe he had clottey in the corner for half of the round, and dominated that round. But every other time he had clottey trapped, he let him go. Very dangerous tactic.

Good fight, very close. Wouldn't mind a rematch.

I agree. I had Cotto winning too .. I've seen people all over the place claiming robbery already. Was a good and close fight, wouldn't be mad if Clottey would've gotten the decision.

What fight were you watchin? That headbutt was accidental. Cotto was the one fightin' dirty! If that fight was scored in Vegas Clottey would have won. He landed more punches at a higher connect rate and threw less. He was the aggressor and brought the fight to Cotto, except for when Cotto had him on the ropes! Clottey won that fight!

Clottey flurried his way out of the corner several times. The one time he had him there for a minute he did good but had to throw a lot to land a few only time to have Clottey come out at the end of the round like nothing happened. If I had to guess he didn't want to punch himself out and good idea considering how close and tough of a fight it was.

I still thought it was an excellent fight. One of those fights that either side would've had a case at being mad at the decision.

So is that why he kept grabbing Cottos arm and grabbing Cotto in all kind of awkward ways. If you believe Clottey won 7 rounds you got biasedness written all over you Tony

I just don't see why people are mad at the decision, it wasn't a robbery and it wasn't THAT close. I agree, 116-111 was a little out there but the decision was a fair one.

Knockdown in round 1, one of the mid round that Clottey just played peek-a-boo in the corner for 2 minutes, and then doing nothing in the last 2 rounds. Clottey fans can't really argue with those rounds and thats 5 points right there. They are basically saying that Clottey won ALL of the other 7 rounds?

That's what 1 judge saw...and thats the 114-113

Give Cotto at least 2 of those 7, and he wins the fight. I believe he won 2 of those 7 rounds...

That's why I don't see what the big fuss is.

It's just Emanuel Steward's commentary that makes you second guess...haha.

^^^ good analysis, 2-0 you are correct about Cotto showing vulnerbility but to me that had a lot to do with Clotteys great defense. There only 1 other fighter that Cotto can fight that has that good of defense and thats Mayweather.

LOL, I don't have bias written all over me. I mean you called Clottey a dirty fighter and he fought a clean fight. Cotto slammed him to the ground and also hit him in the back of the head too (but I guess you missed that huh). Clottey landed the cleaner more effective blows. How could you miss those right hands and uppercuts that Cotto was getting smashed with? Clottey landed more punches and was the aggressor. The last round Cotto ran and Clottey had to chase him down. That's how De La Hoya lost to Trinidad. Cotto won the fight in their eyes because he finished the fight with that nasty cut on his head and scored the early knockdown. Other than that it was all Clottey.
