The New York Knicks acquired Carmelo Anthony on Monday night, sources told ESPN The Magazine's senior writer Chris Broussard.

Completing the deal, Denver will get Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks' 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash while Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman will head to New York, according to the Denver Post.

Anthony wasn't at the Nuggets' practice on Monday night. Instead, the All-Star forward was in Burbank, Calif., taping a segment on "Conan."

Anthony, who has been the subject of intense speculation as Thursday's trade deadline approaches, stayed behind in Los Angeles following the NBA All-Star Game while his teammates gathered at the Pepsi Center.

Team spokesman Tim Gelt told The Associated Press that Anthony's absence was excused. Late Monday afternoon, Anthony tweeted: "Headed to Burbank to film THE CONAN SHOW."

Anthony has been the subject of trade talks ever since he declined to sign a three-year, $65 million extension with the Nuggets last summer. His biggest pursuers are the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets.

Only thing NY really gave up was Gallo. Billups is better than Felton and when Billups gets bought out Williams will leave Utah and go to NY. Chandlers numbers are an illusion from D'antonis system.

lol the Knicks got raped on that trade. The Nuggets got the Knicks to gut their team and Chauncey wants to go to the Heat now and is unhappy about the trade. haha

While Gallinari and Chandler are "good" up and coming players in the league they still won't ever reach Melo's level. Billups is on par with Felton just older and he will be trade bait himself by next season's trade deadline aswell.

If anyone got raped in this situation its the Nugget fans.

No we didnt. You will be hard pressed to find 5 fans that dont like this trade. Sucks getting rid of chauncy, but he'll be back home soon enough. Melo was a bitch through this whole time denying everything and acting like a total primadonna asshole from day 1.

Most Denver fans like the trade and are glad its finally over. I think its funny now all of a sudden knicks are going to win in playoffs...so ummm when did melo and amare get that "winning" streak in them?

Melo's defense deficiency is going to get completly exposed now. sure Knicks mat score a few more, but now they will give up alot more points too.

I looove what we got in return. Now all we need to do is get rid of Kmarts contract and either get JR Smith to shape up or ship him out as well and we will have a young nucleus to build around and a boatload of picks to start with, as well as free'd up money for the free agent game.
