this year there will be a lot less PPV's. The rule of thumb is usually HBO they like to have no more then 6 PPV's per year, but last year they had like 11.
HBO also has said to be doing quality matches only in 2009 and also to build future stars, so they are doing their part. It should say something that HBO turned down to pick up Cotto vs Jennings and Pavlik vs Rubio on the same card because they feel they are mismatches, which is true, and they only want to have good matches. In fact, not even Showtime wanted to pick that card up which is pretty amazing. So that will actually be a small level PPV put on by Top Rank because no major network wanted it. That's good for the sport!
I'm surprised Margarito came in at 145. He's a huge welterweight as it is. I'm trying to get some pictures, I'll post when I do.
