sorry man but i dont live in the past like you guys have to. my team is winning now and yeah if you're talking as awhole you're franchise SHITS and PISSES on mine and i know that, I'm not stupid. i'm talking about right now. you also got remember the times on when things were done. we were the ONLY team to become a Franchise in the Salaray Cap era and that says alot about the team and the coach so you cant hate on that.

but yeah no shit you're old team was better than our now team, but i'm talking about tthe NOW and we still prime for SB runs to come, you guys will be waiting for years to get where we at right now and thats if it ever happens again.

its down to dallas vs jets for nnamdi

http://twitter.com/#!/michaelombardi/status/96955513773883392

Just updated the Nnamdi situation--49ers telling people they are out..Right now, Dallas and Jets, Ryan brothers are battling. Stay tuned

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha has yet to pick a new team. But another team has opted out of the chase.

Michael Lombardi of NFL Network reports that it’s down to Ryan vs. Ryan.

Rex Ryan, as anyone who follows football knows, coaches the Jets. Rob Ryan is the first-year defensive coordinator in Dallas.

Per Lombardi, the 49ers have bailed out. The Texans bailed when they signed Johnathan Joseph. We’ve reported that the Bucs were never it, contrary to reports elsewhere.

We caught wind last night of talk that the Cowboys may jump into this thing. Apparently, they have, with both feet.

Either way, it looks like Asomugha will be on NBC in primetime on Sunday night, September 11. The only question is whether he’ll be wearing a silver helmet, or a white one.
having 2 best corners in the gamke would be awesome for any team, but wehn no player is willing to reduce there salary then i dont see it working. why spend so much on another CB when you're already stocked in that department and what you really need is a front line. this team has to worry about the Pats every year so they should try and get there d-line in check before getting another corner, but thats just me. my guess he ends up a cowboy but jets do buy what they want so we'll see.

If the Jets get him they'll be poised to make a run for a year or two, but when the back ends of these huge free agent contracts hit, it's gonna be tough for them to afford to keep a good team together. you gotta develop young talent through the draft and do something with them before they hit their payday. you can't buy a SB team in free agency with the cap these days. paying revis, asomugha, santonio, etc. is only a quick fix / short term solution.

honestly, i dont see why the jets want nnamdi so much, i mean yeah they'll have the top 2 best corners in the league, but if you go by completion percentage given up, they have the number 1 (revis) and number 4 (cromartie) cornerbacks in the league.

But i think if aso wants to win a superbowl, he should go with the jets, because i think they have a better chance to get their than the cowboys.

Just as this news was reported on NFL Network, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News passed along word that there is "fist-bumping" going on at Cowboys headquarters. It indeed appears as if Asomugha is going to Dallas. Stay tuned.

NFL Network reports that the Jets and Cowboys have both dropped out of the sweepstakes for free agent Nnamdi Asomugha.
NFL Network is reporting vehemently that the Jets are definitely out, and the Cowboys reportedly are, too. "It must be a sleeper team," said NFL Net's Mike Lombardi. "The agent for Nnamdi, Ben Dogra, is now saying Cowboys are not in it. There must be a team in this that has done a great job of keeping it all a secret." It's now being speculated that Asomugha will stay in the Bay Area, possibly either re-signing with the Raiders or going to San Francisco.

Why in the hell did the Cardinal trade DRC and picks for Kolb a career back up QB. Then they give this unproven dude $63 million. WOW.. WE should've got Kyle Orton for cheap. I hope Kolb is worth it or we will have a long hard year.

lulz

If you were looking for definitive evidence that the players finagled themselves a good deal out of the collective bargaining talks, look no further. Former Falcons punter Michael Koenen just got a six-year, $19.5 million deal from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Once again: Punter. $19.5 million. Nice work, DeMaurice Smith.

The weirdest thing about it? He's not even that great. Among punters with 50 or more punts last year, Koenen ranked 30th in the league with an average of 40.7 yards. His net average was 35.6 yards, 28th in the league. Koenen is decent at dropping punts inside the 20-yard line, doing that 29 times last year, tied for eighth in the league.

He also adds some value as a kickoff specialist, too. He put 23 balls in the end zone for touchbacks on the kickoff last year, good for third in the league. That is a nice thing to have, and field position after kickoffs is an underrated part of the game, but with kickoffs moving up to the 35-yard line this year, one would think a larger percentage of kickers would be able sail the ball into the end zone.

Believe me, the last thing in the world I want to do is write a post bashing Michael Koenen(notes). He's a valuable tool in the battle for field position, and I'm sure he's a lovely, lovely man. It just jumped out at me when I saw that he was getting a contract worth $19.5 million.

In terms of total contract value, it's the biggest deal ever given to a punter. The deal Shane Lechler(notes) signed with the Raiders in 2009 was worth more per year ($16 million over four) and had more guarantees. Lechler was also a much better punter.
