Some examples of book burning:

Nazi Germany burning books by Jewish authors and books they deemed "degenerate."

America in the 50s burning comic books that focused on horror, and crime.

Orthodox Jews burning The New Testament in 1984. They based it on

In the UK they burnt copies of Salmon Rushdie's "The Satanic Verses." The Ayatolla of Iran called for the authors execution.

Harry Potter books were burned because they were about witchcraft.
Citing examples doesn't answer the question. People have been burning books and deeming them problematic or heretical for thousands of years now.

The statement stands as stated. I could have said "need" and what exactly would that have done?

Nothing because I wasn't questioning your use of the word "should" but rather the scope of it. The difference between "should be more responsible" or "need to be more responsible" and "must be more responsible"-as dictated by our handlers.

It isn't very Christlike of the guy but I am in all not surprised a christian doing this.
Christ didn't burn anything but there were accounts of him being angry with people for their religious deeds and there is a lengthy precedent of prophets or people in the bible being infuriated with people going against God or worshipping false idols.

Not saying I agree with this or even see much significance in the story or why it's become such a big deal but it's another example of religious double standards in this country. People burn bibles and American flags almost every day. From what I understood, this was a small congregation, it's not like they were expecting a huge crowd at the Washington monument or something. I seriously doubt the president would've stepped up and pleaded with a Satanic church of 40 members in some obscure area from burning bibles
