Jeezy is a high calibre rapper, some mans in this thread are asking why, i'll tell you what makes him a great rapper, look at his atributes.

1. What he brings with each release and each song is a strong identifiable presence and character, he is instantly recognisable, from 100 rappers flowin on the same beat from the first word or ad lib you know its jeezy next - that takes talent to craft and design.

2. His ability to pick music to suit his style is second to none, dont tell me this aint a talent, too many good rappers cant pick hot beats to save they careers.

3. His understated slow flow is so simple and so easily understood its almost genius, it makes all his lyrics, nearly every line is something catchy and repeatable - that again takes talent to design

4. I was listening to inspiration today before i saw this thread and Jeezy does tight fuckin hooks.

5. He has some slick funny ass punchlines, as razor sharp as any Big L line, just more subtle ("fresh paper like the first day of school" lol)

6. He is a rapper with an incredible mass appeal with both mainstream kids and real hustlers, he doesnt make commercial music to get sales - that kind of appeal is a rare commodity in a rapper

7. The Inspiration is his fourth album (not his second) if you include his first one as Lil J, and as an artist he is developing and improving, some artists drop one or two cds and fall off, Jeezy has consistancy and durability

^^ that just some reasons why in my opinion Jeezy is a great rapper, so he doesnt have multi-syllable rhyme patterns and complex metaphor, but he doesnt need those things, in fact if he used those styles he wouldnt be half as tight as is he is. People got to re-assess what they think it means to be a tight rapper in 2006/7

Nigga check thiz out. Aint nobody hatin on Jeezy 4 comin up. A dealer iz a hustler but pushin that Snowman on kidz waz dumb az shit. If Jeezy waz a real street nigga(not just a nigga who's in the streets. Therez a difference u know?) then he wouldve showed some type of concern of the fact that kidz were jumpin on that Snowman shit & didn't have a clue on what the game waz about & Jeezy(as simple az hiz lyrics may be) doesn't take the time 2 skool the youth.

The reason why I speak down on the bullshit he spitz in interviewz & in hiz music iz because Jeezy remindz me so much of the older catz me & my homiez looked up to when I waz growing up who were turning niggaz on 2 the game without warning niggaz that the game iz fake......the consequences behind the shit etc. These kidz look up 2 Jeezy & instead of him spittin that street shit but havin a warning sighn in hiz music the nigga iz pushin that Snowman shit on the youth & makin it seem like sellin dope iz cool. If he lived that life itz cool 2 talk about it but take some responsibilty behind your music & image.
I dont think any kid is goin to start drug dealing because they heard a young jeezy record, they gonna start hustlin cos they broke and hungry, because they dont give a fuck. people are gonna do what they do, lives are more complicated than anything music can influence, thats like goin back to censorship in entertainment and parental advisory stickers,

so maybe jeezy doesnt have a lot of positive shit to say, not everybody has but if anything to a young kid lookin up Jeezy is a success story he is making his money legit now.

When a 13 year old kid iz runnin around with a shirt on that sayz "i got that snowman" any mothafucka with a half a brain knowz exactly what that shit means. I'm not saying that all hiz shit has 2 be positive but even if u spittin some gangsta shit that the hustlaz can relate 2 use some common sense. I see more kidz then adultz wearing them shirtz & belt buckles so I know he does. Most of these youngstaz don't have a clue of how serious the game iz & Jeezy has the recource & the power 2 reach out 2 these lil niggaz. Keep spittin that trap shit but use common sense when doing it.

You making no kind of sense. All them rappers you named above sure in the hell arent giving no positive messages to the youth either. you think Jayo Felony(one of the artist you listed) never had no warning sign in his gangbanging music.

To me it just sounds like you got a personally problem inside and jezzy brings it out of you when you see him or hear his music or hear people say positive things about him. you made your opinion so if you not feeling him so much tehn why are you contributing so much to this thread and messing up Solitary's whole purpose of this thread.

REMEBER
This thread is a simple yes or no on if your feeling Jeezy's music not about him contradiction himself and all that ish.

Jeezy isnt going no where for a long ass time so get used to it.

btw

Snowman is Jeezys clothing line available in every urban store across the US. The Snow man is his gimmick and symbol just like T.i. is the King. and Game is this super gangbanging blood and etc

If thats the case why are kids wearing "STOP SNITCHING" t shirts or "I GOT IT FOR CHEAP" shirts? quit contradicting yourself, Jeezy is doing what any other artist out there is trying to do and thats being suceessful and making his money to take care of his family.

Aint no one over here contradictin shit. I may have gotten off the topic but I only brought up the Snowman shirtz cuz Jeezy iz behind them. Fuck them other shirtz u named cuz I wasn't talking about those either though I know where you were going with that..

Az far az hiz new CD. I gotta hear it. Az far az 101, some of hiz mixtapes & Come Shop With Me(hiz underground cd), dude aint pushin the line on good mic spittin. Hiz word play aint no better then Birdman & Jim Jones. He's unmistakable on the mic az far az hiz voice & precence but so iz Mike Jones. IMO he just soundz way too typacle & way too predictable. I can finish one of hiz linez before he can.

You are talking about censorship in entertainment, young jeezy and the snowman logo is a product that he is selling, he is not selling crack to these kids, yes we know what the logo means, but because a kid wears a snowman shirt and belt buckle that doesn't mean that kid will grow up to be a crack dealer, i don't see how the 2 relate. life is goin to treat people how it does and kids will grow to be what they will, regardless of a rap t-shirt or cd.

i dont see why he has to use 'common sense' in his raps, just because he has an audience and platform that doesnt mean he has to use it to preach positive messages, hes young jeezy not jesse jackson. hes not talib kweli either, jeezy is a rapper and entertainer, the life he talks about is real, it exsists, theres enough room in the world of rap and entertainment to show every side of life, you can't blame jeezy for gettin his the best way he knows how.

I got like three copies of jeezy, listened to the album and gave em out while on my way home. Pulled up at the red lights and gave em to whoever was driving next to me. Threw nas and bumped it all the way home. IMO, it sucked and i would not buy it.

i cant argue with any of the points you guys made...i know he sucks. but this album is still dope,i dont give a fuck

THAT WAS REAL......FUNNY!! Its Entertainment....Point Blank, u dont have to dick ride the dude...its catchy, he does his thing, u kno! He should never be recognized as an excellent lyricist....hell, he really aint that original neither...but he's true 2 himself....that can be made 2 be positive or negative!! Its like anything that gets commercialized, its goin 2 fall off!! 4real though I feel Jeezys hustle in the aspect that theres a lot of old heads tryin 2 act like no1nze doin ANYTHING....and Jeezy is stickin up 4 the south and rappers in general..haha, but it is kindof a parable that im thanking Jeezy 4 keepin hip hop alive!! thats fucked up
