That's pure ignorance right there bro.

Think about it.

I wasnt being disrespectful I was saying its easier for blacks to relate to his music bc his content is what most of us been around most our lifes. It just like its easier for caucasins to relate to Alan Jacksons or Willie Nelsons music or Latins to relate to Reggaeton or Chicanno Rap.

Im speaking the truth so dont let it hurt you.

I know exactly what you meant, and I'm not accusing you of being racist. But I don't agree with your reasoning at all. 99% of rappers' content is something that most suburban white folks cannot relate to at all. So why is Jeezy any different? It's not just the content, take Yukmouth for example. who's content is the typical "i'm a super thug/i slang dope" shit, and I'm sure most suburban white folks can't relate to that at all, but will still argue that Yuk is one of the best lyricists, why? Because dude is still talented. Yes, I do wish he would rap about more than just thug shit, but dude has the wordplay/lyrics/muliti syllables/punchlines/metaphores that shit on most rappers... and I'm sure most folks who can not relate to the shit that he raps about, will still listen because of the clever way he puts it all together. Get it?

Yup only the black man can feel young jezzy.......:classic:

I wasnt saying that so reread and comperhend. What I was saying is that its easier for blacks to understand Jeezy's music quicker then any other race due to the fact that most blacks been thru the shit he talks about. not saying thats theres a few acceptions in the other races. You gotta understand something and relate to the meaning of it first to feel it to the fullest.

btw
you dont have to be no lyricsts to sell or drop a great song. its all about delivering a message and Jeezy's doing just that and is taking shit over bc he spits real shit simple as that.

T.i. & Cham ran shit with sell this year. Jeezy will run it tor the rest of this year and alot of next and thats all that matters is being the top nigga.

I'm a str8 up nigga raized in the slumz & I'm saying that Jeezy aint any good on the mic. All that shit about itz eazy'er for blackz 2 relate 2 hiz muzic then otherz iz a bum azz statement cuz itz easy're 4 niggaz 2 relate 2 any black gangsta rapper then any other ethnic group. Jeezy haz style & charisma but thatz where the positive stopz & the negative startz piling up. That nigga iz average @ the most on the mic-period. I'm just not feeling hiz flow, lyrics or delivery. Itz very hard 4 me 2 pick up an artist just cuz hiz beatz are knockin. I remember when Nelly's first CD dropped that shit knocked hard if u had the right system in yo car but Nelly waz garbage overall. Jeezy needz 2 really step it up on the mic. He aint gotta be Nas or Common. There are plenty of gangsta rapperz who focuse on havin good lyrics

Yukmouth
Snoop
Jayo Felony
Domination
Karupt
Scarface
T-Nutty

And plenty otherz. Jeezy haz no excuse. Itz very hard 2 get by your entire career kickin grammer skool type lyrics.

I dont think its all about being black, its all about what u know. All u gotta do is find out what he's talkin about. U aint gotta be from the depths of the hood to understand his shit. Jeezy's first album was great but this 102 shit he got out right is trash. He just sounds so played out right now. His lyrics need help with some tight beats like the last one. This album is really nuthing special. The Clipse do this Trappin on Wax thing the best. Listen to the Clipse cleverness crack dealin lyrical punchlines. They easily murder Young Jeezy.

U dont have to be a good lyricist to sell records. U dont have to be tight either. All u need is connections. Is that the way its supposed to be? Cuz i hope that changes real soon.

When someone says "his wordplay is flawless", most people will assume that you're calling him a good lyricist. Whats so clelver about his rhymes bro? His rhyme scheme/wordplay is simp, his punchlines and metaphores are almost none existant, his multi syllables are nowhere to be found, his subject matter is completely unorginal and tired (how many songs can you make about slanging coke? we get it, you're a drug dealer). Most people like him because of his production, and even they admit that.

ONCE AGAIN, THE THINGS YOU'RE DESCRIBING HERE ARE SKILLS THAT A COMPLEX LYRICIST WOULD HAVE: MULTI-SYLLABLES AND PUNCH-LINES. WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T SEEM TO GET IS IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THAT. THERE ARE A GANG OF CATS WITH PLENTY OF MULTI-SYLLABLE RHYMES AND PUNCH LINES WHO SOUND WACK. THEY DON'T HAVE "IT." IMO JEEZY HAS THAT. AS FAR AS METAPHORES, YOU MIGHT WANT TO LISTEN TO SOME OF HIS MUSIC AGAIN BECAUSE HE ALWAYS HAS METAPHORES IN DAMN NEAR EVERY SONG. IF YOU LISTEN TO MOST RAPPERS THESE DAYS, THEY ALL TALK ABOUT COKE AND GUNS, EVEN THE ONES THAT YOU MIGHT CALL LYRICISTS. IT'S HOW IT'S DONE THAT CATCHES YOU AND MAKES AN MC TRULY GREAT. WORDPLAY DOES NOT HAVE TO BE MULTI-SYLLABLES OR PUNCHLINES. SOMETIMES IT'S A MUCH MORE SUBTLE THING.

ANOTHER THING JEEZY IS ABOVE AVERAGE IN IS SONG-WRITING. THAT'S SOMETHING MOST COMPLEX-TYPE MC'S CAN'T DO FOR SHIT.

Please someone explain 2 me what iz so complex about Jeezy's song writing. Yea he uses metaphores but thiz iz almost 2007 it aint 1991. Every rapper uses metaphores. U got have metaphores on top of metaphores 4 your shit 2 stand out now. I think niggaz on thiz thread iz vouching 4 hiz music cuz they are fanz. I tell people all the time that just cuz u like it doesn't mean itz any good.

Example: I like the movie Dolemite but it aint a good movie & Rudy Ray Moore waz awful in the movie. I just like it cuz itz so silly that itz funny & thatz just my own personal taste but I wouldn't recommend someone 2 go rent it.

Same thing with the TV show Flavor Of Love. The way those femalez acted made black people(& women esp)look retarded & the women desperate but the show waz so entertaining I caught myself watching that coon shit every week.

All I'm saying iz just cuz u like Jeezy don't sit up here & act like he's thiz great rapper when he soundz mediocre on the mic & soundz like a negative contradicting dumb azz in interviewz.

Yea your right. Every rapper haz contradicted themselves before but Jeezy doez it in a way that just makez him look extremly ignorant. I really hated the Snowman shit that waz pushed on kidz. That waz some negative shit that subconcouisly had youngstaz thinkin that the dope game waz cool. Then he getz in XXL sayin that the Snowman iz the ultimate hustler. Nigga please We all know what the Snowman iz. Stop trying 2 sugarcoat that negative shit.

thats true but, but in order to be hot at any moment, u gotta be heard which takes lots of promotion and and know ones gonna promote u unless u know someone that knows someone that knows a major factor in the industry. But even though ur wack u can still be heard somehow. Its rare that someone comes out of no where. I dont think anybody ever made it big time with out being discovered by the CEO a major label or a big name artist or big name producer.

Thats the true meaning of a dealer. A dealer is a hustler they putting in work of whatever they distribute to make money.

You need to go back and study your street dictionary homeboy and quit hating on Jeezy for coming up

Nope you got it confused a lil bit. actually you should pay a professional promotion company to do the job for you the right way. and have a manager to make all the phone calls/moves for you and most of all you gotta be a business man if you cant conduct business right thens its curtains thats how it works mostly.

Well think again theres plenty of artist who got major deals from just shopping a demo to companies and then got called in for a auditions and got signed right on the spot for outstanding auditions. btw CEO's dont look for talent the A&R handles all that the Ceo just sit back in his/her suite and sign checks and call shots

for example.

Alicia Keyes, Mario, T.I., R. Kelly, Stevie Wonder

Alot of cats on here needs to just be fans aand just give a fans opinion and dont speak on the industry standards especially if you dont have no experience, knowlegde or know anyone whio has knowlege on it behind the scenes or on the business part.

Nigga check thiz out. Aint nobody hatin on Jeezy 4 comin up. A dealer iz a hustler but pushin that Snowman on kidz waz dumb az shit. If Jeezy waz a real street nigga(not just a nigga who's in the streets. Therez a difference u know?) then he wouldve showed some type of concern of the fact that kidz were jumpin on that Snowman shit & didn't have a clue on what the game waz about & Jeezy(as simple az hiz lyrics may be) doesn't take the time 2 skool the youth.

The reason why I speak down on the bullshit he spitz in interviewz & in hiz music iz because Jeezy remindz me so much of the older catz me & my homiez looked up to when I waz growing up who were turning niggaz on 2 the game without warning niggaz that the game iz fake......the consequences behind the shit etc. These kidz look up 2 Jeezy & instead of him spittin that street shit but havin a warning sighn in hiz music the nigga iz pushin that Snowman shit on the youth & makin it seem like sellin dope iz cool. If he lived that life itz cool 2 talk about it but take some responsibilty behind your music & image.
