through constant education, ive awoken from a deep sleep of ignorance and no longer fly under a gang flag....but i dont forget where i came from or the homies of mine that are still in that life...while im sorry that most of them are lost and doing long prison terms, i try now to prevent young kids and anyone from following down that same path to nowhere....i wanna see our people, regardless of race, walk onto a stage to recieve their diploma, not walk the line in a state prison on the way to recieve a lunch tray....society thinks we need prison to rehabilitate, but anyone who has ever been locked up knows that rehabilitation does not exist in a cold cell....true rehabiliation comes from within ourselves, not from within the walls of a prison....we need education and should press the importance of education on the young, and i dont mean prison education where you learn to make shanks and crap, im talking about college....everything is there if you truly want it, but you have to want it and be willing to work and change for it....we need to do something useful and productive with our lives instead of wasting them....its madness that were killing eachother and throwing our lives away just so others dont think were weak...were strong, and we shouldnt need a gun and life sentence to prove that....
@woodie...the only thing im stressing is education, not stressing that we all need to sign up for police academy....were victims of ourselves though...when people go out and shoot eachother, that gives the cops and D.A.'s more power to lock people up....2006 is no exception...in november, the "repeat felon justice act" will be on the ballot and in this state, and im fairly sure it will pass...its a revision of 3 strikes and its going to make it easier for 3 strikes to be applied...that means more people in prison for even longer terms....
