I hope so too. I already saw on the news that said Assange reportedly had been preparing a deadly capsule to ingest if he was arrested....they are already softening us up for the "suicide"!!!
Then the media pundits will be like, "see, he was in fact a rapist and couldn't live with the fact and committed suicide because he knew he was guilty."

They do that shit every time. They'll off the person, vilify them and the public will eat it up. Now if he isn't a stooge, I don't want anything to happen to him, but if he is a stooge I don't care. But if he is the real thing, we need more people stepping up to the plate and doing what he and his team did as they are doing a service to humanity.

That, however, is a terrible analogy.
In reality it would be like if you hired your boy to go talk to your girl (on your behalf and dollar) and then he didn't tell you what they talked about.
Then your third friend who happened to find out what they did in fact talk about, was giving you the information behind the back of your friend whom you had hired to talk to your girl.
Upon hearing that, the friend you hired to originally do the job then set out to defame and or/kill the 3rd friend divulging the info you paid for - and vilifying you for getting any information from your 3rd friend in the process.

Did Julian Assange break any laws by releasing these documents? If he is an Australian citizen, what say or influence should the United States have anyway?
I do believe in free speach however when the information presented can alter alliances or decisions of countries that may impact millions of people across the globe then I have to think that there should be some common decency or restraint when deciding what type of information is released to general public.
In saying all this I think he is extra greasy but not sure he should face any punishment..especially from Western Countries that believe in freedom of speech.
What I find strange in the media and this thread....The primary focus is Julian Assange. He may be selfish in his motives for leaking the documents but what about the American Soldier who gave him the documents in the first place. This guy was on active duty and betrayed our country. He knew exactly what he was doing was a possible capital offence which could result in imprisonment or death if found guilty in a military court. (He is considered as a spy)

Now this whole thing is crazy but a stranger aspect of all of this is how the wikileaks funds and payment options are drying up because of "illegal activities." The guy hasn't even been charged with a crime related to the website or info so wtf?
